Do you have a passion for numbers? Have you always been interested in how we come up with our prices? A fantastic opportunity has arisen to join the Pricing department as a Pricing Technician. 

Job Purpose

Pricing Technicians support the Motor Pricing department by dealing with a large proportion of the queries that we receive relating to our pricing structure. A thorough understanding of various Pricing issues is required in order to be able to contribute to various Pricing discussions. The team also act as a link between the Motor Pricing and the wider business, attending workshops/ meetings, and delivering training where required.

Main Duties

• Develop a thorough understanding of our rate structure including an understanding of all rate tables and pricing procedures
• Handle pricing queries from other departments, mainly from New Business and Customer Loyalty, but including those from external sources, such as FOS
• For the purpose of dealing with queries, understand and be able to enter and accept quotes, create transactions and renew policies in Guidewire
• Perform dip checks on cases highlighted in Pricing reports, using the call listening facility to highlight issues
• Carry out ad-hoc analysis and investigations into various issues that may be affecting the Pricing process. E.g. investigating how a competitor company may deal with certain Pricing related issues
• To complete any further work as delegated from UK Pricing Manager / Queries & Reports Manager
• After a successful probationary period, there may be an expectation to deliver internal and external training where required, and to represent the department in external meetings/projects
