Full Stack Web Developer – Data and Analytics

The Admiral Group is a multinational financial services provider, where data and technology are key to our success. We have an opportunity for an experienced Full Stack Web Developer to contribute to the development of a variety applications within one of our data and analytics teams.

You will work within a cross functional team comprised of Developers, Engineers, Analysts and Data Scientists whose primary focus is to design and develop innovative technology solutions tailored to our pricing and analytics operations.

About You:

We are looking for an enthusiastic and curious individual, who can think creatively to solve problems and meet user requirements. You must have a keen interest in web development and be ready to research and learn new techniques, languages and frameworks as required.

As we work within the Agile/Scrum framework, we are looking for someone who can work both independently and as part of a team within a fast-paced and changing environment. This requires an individual who is capable of delivering to agreed timelines, communicating effectively and thinking innovatively.

Responsibilities;

As part of a multi-discipline team challenged with building a cloud data platform, you will be responsible for contributing to the development of a variety of web applications. This will include:

• Contributing to the development and refinement of user requirements.
• Designing innovative solutions to solve problems and meet requirements.
• Developing intuitive and user-friendly interfaces.
• Developing integration services that connect our users to our data and other cloud components.
• Developing appropriate tests to support code.
• Producing applicable technical documentation.
• You will also be expected to keep your skills up to date by following advancements in the field and researching new and innovative technologies and techniques.

Skills and Experience:

• Frontend web development experience using HTML, CSS and a JavaScript/Typescript framework such as Angular (preferred), React or Vue.js.
• Web services development experience (i.e. REST services) using Java (preferred) or another object-orientated programming language.
• Experience with relational database technologies such as PostgreSQL, MySQL or MS SQL.
• Experience with version control systems such as Git.
• Ability to communicate effectively to a variety of audiences including both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Although not essential, desirable skills/experience include:

• Experience working within an Agile/Scrum environment.
• Experience working with cloud technologies.
• Experience with CI/CD tools.
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
