The Role

This role combines data analysis with business and product-focused work.

The ideal Consultant possesses both analytical and managerial qualities, combining logical and creative thinking with great interpersonal skills.

This program is aimed at candidates with a quantitative background, a Masters in Business or Management (or related fields), and a minimum of one full year professional work experience.

Previous experience in insurance is not necessary, as we’ll help you acquire the relevant knowledge through:

  • Dedicated training to understand Pricing, Analytics, and Data
  • On-the-job learning through projects that have real impact
  • Exposure to senior managers (including C-Suite) around the Group
  • Projects could include strategic initiatives to promote product design and launch, implementing new technologies, researching data sources and analysing complexities, deep-diving into country-specific challenges or sharing knowledge across countries to solve composite problems

Main Responsibilities

  • Managing Pricing, Analytics or Data projects
  • Working with senior management to design product strategies
  • Communicating results and initiatives to senior stakeholders
  • Collaborating with analysts and data scientists to manage project deliveries
  • Performing analysis to assess our pricing structures and past performance to improve risk management

The goal of the program is to prepare you for future management roles, either within the Pricing & Analytics functions or in the wider business. The fast growth of our international companies, as well as our expansion into new product lines, will create exciting future career opportunities.

This role is suitable for candidates committed to building a long-term career within Admiral.

Location

International Pricing Team: This multi-national team is based in our headquarters in Cardiff but provides strategic advice and support to our international operations. The role includes opportunities to travel to our international operations for both short visits and longer assignments, and you may be able to relocate to one of our international offices after some time. We work in a flexible hybrid mode, combining work from home with some time spent in the office.

Specific Requirements

Qualifications

  • An MSc or MA level degree in Business or Management or a similar field
  • Prior Bachelors level degree in a STEM discipline is desired 

Essential skills / experience

  • Strong numerical and analytical skills evidenced by a solid academic and / or work background
  • 1 – 2 years of post-undergrad work experience
  • Fluency in English

Desirable skills / experience

  • French, Spanish or Italian language skills are an advantage but not essential
  • Proactive and creative approach to taking initiative and getting things done
  • Ability to analyse complex problems and design innovative solutions
  • Team player who can build relationships across functions and geographies
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and an ability to inspire and influence others
  • Willingness to learn the necessary technical skills from the ground up
  • Experience in developing business strategies is a bonus
  • Personality and a sense of humour (we believe work should be fun!)

Interview process

  1. CV screening.
  2. Numerical test: 25 questions with an inbuilt timing function to complete it in 25 minutes. All candidates applying for an analytical role will be invited to complete this test. Please note: The score you get will be used for any other roles you apply to with us that require the test as part of the selection process, and you can only complete this test once.
  3. Video interviews with members of the International Pricing Team.
