Cardiff

  1. Full time

Closing date

About the job

We are looking for a Squad Lead who is enthusiastic, with strong communication skills and a desire to drive things forward. We work in an Agile framework in a Cloud environment and seek someone who can work independently, has good teamworking skills, and can deliver to agreed timelines in a fast-paced and changing environment.

Responsibilities

Your responsibilities as part of this team will include:

Essential – Agile Skills:

  • Must be able to establish a mutually respectful dynamic with the team, and be willing to get stuck in to get the job done (Servant Leader).
  • Must be able to communicate well with teams, organisation-wide (Communicative and social).
  • Must be able to lead and demonstrate value-add principles to a team (Facilitative).
  • Must be vigilant for issues as they arise, and elevate them to management with transparency (Situationally Aware).
  • Must be able to ensure Agile/Scrum concepts and principles are adhered to, acknowledged as a voice of reason and authority, unafraid to make tough calls (Assertive).
  • Must be focused on encouraging an improvement culture within the team, improvement of oneself and the team capabilities (Continual improvement).
  • Must encourage diversity of views, promote health conflict, be able to facilitate discussion, focus on solving through a variety of approaches (Conflict resolution).
  • Must be able to lead a team to self-organisation.
  • Understand the fundamentals of software development and DevOps processes and procedures.
  • Understand the value of commitments to delivery made by a development team.
  • Understand incremental delivery and the value of metrics to increase velocity.

Interview process:

This will be a one-stage process which will involve a competency-based interview via Microsoft Teams.
