Role Purpose
The Senior Risk Analyst will support the Risk Manager in a line 2 capacity, including coverage of Admiral Pioneer: Risk, Compliance, and Data Protection & Privacy (DPP) for established Pioneer businesses. The Senior Risk Analyst will predominantly work with the Admiral Business area of Pioneer, therefroe commercial lines and/or broker experience is essential to the role.
Role Overview:
- You will aid the development of a 12-month plan of works outlining key Admiral Pioneer risk, compliance and DPP activities. The Plan will be in accordance with Admiral Pioneer and the wider Admiral Group frameworks, policies and expectations. The Plan will be approved by the Admiral Pioneer Board.
- You will build relationships with Senior Managers and Board members to understand any current or upcoming corporate governance challenges and how you can support Admiral Pioneer in meeting these challenges.
- The successful candidate will need to make themselves a trusted and valued member of the Admiral Pioneer team and aid the business in developing scalable businesses while ensuring proportionate levels of governance and oversight including, but not limited to;
- Providing subject matter expertise
- A risk-based approach balancing speed of delivery with appropriate levels of governance
- Influencing skills – ensuring good governance is built into the DNA of Pioneer businesses
- You will plan and perform thematic reviews. The reviews are performed with a view to determining: fit for purpose, identifying good / bad practice, identifying efficiencies, and determining adherence to Admiral Pioneer / Admiral Group policies and standards.
- You will report to the Head of Risk & Compliance and Admiral Pioneer RMC on progress against agreed plans, and any other areas necessary for escalation. You will also provide similar updates to Admiral Group Corporate Governance functions as part of assisting their oversight of Admiral Pioneer.
Key Responsibilities:
- Aid in the development and delivery of a 12-month plan, outlining key Admiral Pioneer Risk, Compliance and DPP activities. The plan should include;
- how sufficient coverage of these areas is achieved;
- how coverage facilitates adherence to Admiral Pioneer and Group frameworks, policies and expectations; and
- differentiates between activities undertaken by Pioneer and activities undertaken by Group on Admiral Pioneer’s behalf.
- Perform key activities in line with the agreed 12-month plan, or as agreed / requested by the Admiral Pioneer RMC or Board.
- Provide advice and guidance to Pioneer businesses ensuring this aligns with Admiral Pioneer’s risk appetite.
- Aid in embedding a culture of governance being the responsibility of everyone in Admiral Pioneer.
- Provide regular updates to the Admiral Pioneer Risk Management Committee, and Admiral Pioneer Board regarding progress against the 12-month plan. Where any notable issues are anticipated and / or changes proposed to the plan, these are to be agreed by the RMC and/or the Admiral Pioneer Board.
- Provide updates where relevant / requested to Group Risk, Compliance and DPP.
- Develop and maintain key stakeholder relationships including Admiral Pioneer Board, key persons across all Admiral Pioneer business areas and products, and key persons within Admiral Group functions.
- Arrange periodic touchpoints with Senior Managers and Board members to help facilitate open dialogue and understanding of upcoming Admiral Pioneer priorities and challenges.
- Adopt a flexible approach in supporting Admiral Pioneer that is reflective of the level of risk (current and emerging), materiality, maturity and stakeholder input; reviews, workshops, root cause analysis, sharing of good practice, etc.
- Responsible for the Admiral Pioneer Business Continuity Plan (BCP) including oversight of local BCP’s for Admiral Pioneer businesses/functions
- Keep abreast of emerging corporate governance changes in the market and help the business understand the impact of these changes (where relevant in line with Group expectations).
Skills and Experience:
- Commercial lines or broker experience essential.
- Able to build open relationships and gain consensus with stakeholders.
- Pragmatic risk based approach to advice and decision making.
- Strong influencing and persuasion skills.
- Ability to work independently and proactively as well as part of a team.
- Able to multi-task, work under pressure and lead projects.
- Objective, timely and confident decision-making skills.
- Attention to detail, with an analytical mindset.
- Commercially minded.
- Evidence of working on regulatory submissions.
- Experience of working in a governance focused role.
