"We’re looking for a XFN Product Manager to join our team at Veygo!
Why Veygo?
Veygo was founded 6 years ago as part of a pioneering incubation venture ‘Admiral Pioneer’ - created to seed and launch exciting scale ups to disrupt existing marketplaces.
Veygo has so far seen an impressive 50% YoY growth. We currently provide our customers with temporary and learner car insurance - products designed to make life easier for those wanting to share cars, insure their own car for a short amount of time, or for people learning to drive.
What makes Veygo different?
We’re building flexible policies for learner drivers or people looking to share cars once they've passed their test.
Veygo provides comprehensive cover to those customers, meaning that the car owner’s insurance policy and no claims bonus is safe if the person borrowing the car has an accident.
All Veygo’s insurance is available by the hour, day, week or month and customers can get a quote in minutes.
All backed by Admiral, voted Best UK Car Insurance Provider six years in a row by The Personal Finance Awards.
Whilst our mission today is to put people in control of their own journey our ambition is to create a youth lifestyle brand that take us beyond car insurance. Disruption is in our DNA and we’re always relentlessly looking for collaborative self-starters and innovators with the desire to challenge how we do things today; to push the boundaries and drive us through our onward growth journey. Veygo’s culture is vibrant, open, creative, and disruptive.
Role scope
Please note: This is a hybrid role, working in our Cardiff office 2 days per week.
We are seeking an experienced, versatile & customer-centric Product Manager to lead one of our cross-functional teams, initially focussed on our web purchasing journeys. Reporting into the Head of Product, you will collaborate with your engineering and product design team mates to identify & remove points of friction for customers from the complex process of buying insurance by prioritising solutions that remove frustration, confusion, or unnecessary effort from our journeys.
For this role, the successful candidate will have a strong background in customer-centric purchasing journeys, or related, conversion-focussed funnels, with a solid understanding of the e-commerce landscape: including market trends, consumer behaviour, analytics and technology innovations.
Your team’s impact will be measured in quote > sale conversion rate growth and an increase in Average Written Premium (average order value), as well as customer sentiment and intent to recommend Veygo, so a data-guided approach to Product Development is key, alongside a passion for creating excellent customer experiences. You will work alongside other cross functional teams responsible for some of our key propositions -and our app platform - so an ability to collaborate effectively with your Product & Design community will be essential to succeed in this role.
As the year progresses and in-line with quarterly planning cycles, yours / your team may be asked to work on a different business objective: such as finding ways to retain more Veygo subscribers, improving & automating our claims processes, or even an entirely new growth area in a new market. As such, a successful candidate will need to be comfortable with change, and adaptable to working in new product areas.
Excitingly, working within a small product team, the candidate will be able to directly influence their direction of travel: by providing insight to shape our business priorities, and working with their line manager and leadership to determine where they should focus to drive both business and personal growth
Ultimately, we value driven, lateral-thinking Product Managers who deliver impact quickly. These individuals will consistently demonstrate a curious mind-set and take a customer-first approach to problem solving
Responsibilities
- Incorporate data, continuous customer research, and market analysis to inform Product strategy and roadmaps, with an initial focus on our eCommerce / quote > sale purchasing funnels
- Drive and advocate a continuous improvement culture e.g. define and analyse metrics that inform the success of team performance. Identify and track key performance metrics.
- Collaborate strongly with Commercial & Customer service leads to strike the balance between customer and business success in your roadmaps, and to ensure your team works on the most valuable things first
- Leverage a strong commercial mindset to apply decision making in the context of key metrics and objectives
- Engage with our Growth team to plan and prioritise collaboratively, considering how our journeys adapt and evolve to better serve specific customer cohorts and prioritised segments
- Collaborate closely with our app team to better align customer experiences cross-platform
- Share priorities, plans, in-flight work and outcomes of experiments regularly in a range of forums, including Steering sessions and Commercial Trading meetings
Minimum Qualifications/Experience
- Degree or equivalent
- 5-10 years’ experience in a similar role
Preferred Qualifications/Experience
- Very familiar with reporting & insight tools, such as GA4, Tableau, Amplitude
- Experience defining a vision and strategy for a product which connects to the business strategy and your team’s targeted outcomes
- Experience going through a full product lifecycle, integrating customer feedback into product requirements, driving prioritization and pre/post-launch execution.
- Comfortable using a range of discovery techniques to identify and prioritise solving customer problems, needs and pain points to drive business value (customers, sales, revenue, customer lifetime value)
- Confident engaging leadership on strategy & plans, and shaping product strategy with their input and guidance
- A background in - or working knowledge of - insurance is advantageous but not required
