The Existing Customers Tribe aspires to be a best-in-class change delivery function, which objective is to serve and delight AFSL’s customers, and serve all internal stakeholders/areas that are part of servicing and delighting our customers.

Objective of the role:

The Product Lead is part of the Existing Customers Tribe Leadership, and helps the Tribe to achieve its OKRs (Objectives and Key Results). The Product Lead has overall accountability for ensuring the Tribe delivers the solution that meets the customer, market and business demand. They collaborate with stakeholders to identify the customer need and develop the Tribe Annual Objectives, OKRS, Roadmap and Features required to meet this need, they then support the Tribe in delivering value. The Product Lead manages the Squads’ Product Owners and coaches them in agile ways of working and mindset.

 

Key Contribution Areas

  • Accountable for delivering strategic business outcomes through the Tribe
  • Owns strategic outcomes and identifies features that are required to deliver these outcomes
  • Develops forward looking backlog in collaboration with Exec sponsors and wider business
  • Owns and prioritizes Tribe backlog from a business perspective in collaboration with key stakeholders and squad Product Owners
  • Liaises with other Tribe Product Leads and key stakeholders to ensure alignment of scope and priorities across Tribes
  • Supports Product Owners on their relationship building with stakeholders and the iterative nature of their engagements.
  • Supports the Tribe in definition of Epics and User Stories maintaining link to Features and strategic business outcomes
  • Support definition of MVP/product iterations for the Tribe working with business sponsors and stakeholders
  • Supports creation of ‘Definition of Done’ ensuring Tribe deliveries contribute to strategic business outcomes
  • Owns scope and business-related risks/issues and plans mitigation action at the Tribe level
  • Owns scope dependencies and provide input to Quarterly Tribe Alignment, Monthly Tribe Planning and Sprint Planning
  • Participates in Sprint demos and provides feedback on features delivered

  • Coaches Squad Product Owners in Lean-Agile practices and mindsets
  • Collaborates and consults with Exec sponsors and wider business stakeholders to form product visions and scope
  • Collaborates and consults with risk and compliance functions to ensure product scope meets compliance requirements
  • Collaborates and consults with other Tribe Product Leads

 

Essential Knowledge, Skills, Experience

  • Proven 2-3+ years’ work experience with delivery teams as Product Owner in a Lean/Agile set-up, and relevant qualifications
  • Lean/Agile practices and ways of working. Desirable with a related qualification.
  • Experience with using Agile working tools (i.e. Jira, or Azure DevOps, or similar)
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to prioritize work and manage multiple workflows simultaneously.
  • Attention to detail, with a pragmatic mindset.

 

Desirable Knowledge, Skills, Experience

  • Good understanding of risks and compliance interaction with delivery teams
  • Business Analyst work experience and/or relevant qualification(s)
  • Experience in training and developing Product Owners
  • Experience/understanding of Cloud-based technology solutions and delivery. Including concepts such as containerization, API Managment gateways, CICD pipleines
  • Strong customer focus and mindset
