The Role
We are seeking a talented Product Designer to join our dynamic team at Admiral Business. As we enter 2025, we’re looking for a creative leader who can redefine the future of our industry, designing innovative products and services that not only disrupt the insurance landscape but empower the nations businesses to thrive and prosper.
Key Responsibilities
As a Product Designer, you will:
- Lead Design in a Cross-Functional Team: Be the primary product designer in a cross-functional team, working closely with product managers, developers, and other stakeholders to deliver digital products that address customer needs, building great customer experiences while achieving our strategic business goals.
- Deeply Understand Customer Needs: Conduct and facilitate user research, such as customer interviews and usability testing, to gain a profound understanding of customer behaviours, needs, and pain points. Translate these insights into actionable design strategies that enhance the customer experience, drive engagement and solve customer problems.
- Own the End-to-End Design Process: Manage all design deliverables throughout the product lifecycle, from user journey mapping to low-fi and high-fi UI designs. Ensure all designs align with our goal of disrupting the market with user-friendly and innovative digital products.
- Drive Learning, Experimentation and a customer-centric culture: Drive a culture of learning, experimentation, and customer focus by designing and executing data-driven experiments that test assumptions, validate customer needs, and identify impactful solutions. Advocate for pushing boundaries and challenging traditional norms, using innovative design to revolutionise the industry.
- Contribute to Design Strategy and Systems: Help shape our broader design strategy and support the development and maintenance of our design system, ensuring consistency, scalability, and a high-quality standard across all digital touchpoints. Championing simplicity and accessibility in everything we ship.
Skills and Experience Required
- Adaptable and Flexible Approach: Experienced with methodologies like design thinking, double diamond, and lean UX, you tailor your approach to fit the problem.
You balance customer needs with business goals, ensuring your work delivers measurable value. Collaborative and workshop-driven, you engage diverse perspectives to achieve optimal design outcomes.
- Strong Research, Testing, and Experimentation Skills: You have extensive experience with a wide range of research methods, including user interviews, usability testing, A/B testing, and surveys. You constantly seek opportunities to validate your ideas with real users and refine them based on data and insights.
- Advanced Visual and Interaction Design Skills: You have a keen eye for detail in both visual and interaction design. You create simple, functional, and scalable mobile first designs and are experienced in working with and evolving design systems.
- Custodian of the End-to-End Journey: You think deeply about the entire customer journey, from initial digital touchpoints to ongoing engagement. You investigate all touchpoints to design a cohesive and seamless journey for the customer.
- Excellent Communication and Storytelling: You are skilled at clearly articulating your design ideas, rationale, and assumptions, both verbally and visually. You actively seek feedback and thrive in an environment where constructive critique is part of the process.
- Experience in Fintech, Insurtech, or Digital Services: With experience in fintech or digital services, your portfolio demonstrates solving real problems and delivering measurable impact through thoughtful design.
