Operational Resilience is an organisation’s ability to ‘“the ability to prevent, adapt, respond to, recover and learn from operational disruptions”.  The Operational Resilience team within the wider Business Resilience area plays an essential role in ensuring that Admiral’s Important Business Services (IBS) are identified, resilient and compliant with Operational Resilience regulations set out by the FCA and PRA.

We have an exciting opportunity to join our growing team as an Operational Resilience Analyst where you will play a pivotal role in fast-moving and developing area.  Supporting Admiral’s IBSs, you will instil best practice and support all Operational Resilience activities to ensure compliance to regulations, and internal policies.

Working closely with a wide range of stakeholders across Admiral in areas such as Claims, Operations, Payments, Technology and Facilities you will lead on the development and production of mapping for the processes that underpin Admiral’s IBSs.   Identifying the people, technology, third-party, facilities and information resources required to deliver these services to our customers, the criticality of these dependencies and assessing the activities within IBS processes to identify potential resilience vulnerabilities.

Key Responsibilities

This is not a full definition of the role but covers the main aspects and drivers for success.

  • Mapping the end-to-end processes that underpin Admiral’s Importance Business Services (IBS).
  • Identifying the people, technology, third-parties, facilities and information resource dependencies for IBS processes and assessing their criticality.
  • Assessing IBS processes and dependencies for potential resilience vulnerabilities, or areas of weakness.
  • Identifying and assessing change activity across the business to detect changes to processes and resource dependencies and ensuring that documentation is updated and maintained.
  • Taking a leading role as an advocate for Operational Resilience across Admiral to promote awareness, drive activities and embed best practices to ensure compliance with the regulation.
  • Supporting activities and discussions around all Operational Resilience activities, where required including the identification of new IBSs, vulnerability remediation, testing and reporting.
  • Supporting the production of the Operational Resilience annual self-assessment and other regulatory submissions.
  • Supporting the running of the Operational Resilience Committee and Operational Resilience Working Group.

In addition to the above core responsibilities, you will be expected to assist the team in delivering against our wider objectives including management support, as necessary.

Role requirements

Essential:

  • Experience of process mapping and confident on leading on mapping activities with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Able to collaborate with, influence, and support a wide variety of stakeholders.
  • Confident running workshops and meetings.
  • Solutions focussed, especially when dealing with challenges.
  • Methodical with good attention to detail.
  • Proactive and self-motivated.
  • Positive and ‘can do’ attitude.
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.
  • Able to work well within a team, and on own initiative.

Desirable:

  • Business Analysis / Business Analyst experience.
  • Experience or knowledge in Operational Resilience / Business Continuity.
  • Experience in risk/issue identification.
  • Awareness in the Financial Services regulatory environment.
  • Awareness of the Claims industry.
  • Awareness of IT and Technology concepts.
  • Experience of writing reports and minutes.

Salary, Benefits, and Work-Life Balance
