The Tech Department has always placed value on Graduate programmes and Internships and over the last 5 years we’ve recruited 35-42% females into these roles. We’re hoping that with #TechSheCan we can increase this number in years to come.

Software Engineering Degree apprenticeship
Our thee-year upskilling programme is open to employees seeking to gain a BSc in Applied Software Engineering, whilst working on real-life projects at Admiral, to build their workplace portfolio. The programme runs in collaboration with Cardiff University, Swansea University and The Open University.

Pluralsight
Access to Pluralsight learning platform allows our people to upskill and adjust to the latest technology, by offering training in areas such as Software Development, Machine Learning, Cloud Computing and Tech Operations. 
Peppermint Management Development Programme
Our 6-8 month Management Development Programme, facilitated by external provider Peppermint Learning, enables Managers to gain the CMI Level 5 qualification in Management and Leadership. The Programme consists of formal training, work-based assignments, 360-degree feedback, the opportunity to present to senior Management and conduct coaching sessions, all whilst receiving feedback from professionals at Peppermint.

Hackathons
Hackathons bring our Tech department together in a highly interactive and energetic environment, to develop complex solutions that solve real-world scenarios. Our Tech colleagues get to experiment with the latest technologies and have the opportunity to network with others across Tech departments. Adjusting to the new ways of working, we’re eager to bring hackathons to a ‘virtual world’.

Cloud Learning Pathways
Our Learning Pathways, designed by Google, help to empower our colleagues to undertake technical or business courses to progress to the next stage in their career.

We offer two opportunities for motivated individuals to take that all important first step into your Tech career. 

Tech Summer Internships

We’re helping students to kickstart a successful career in Tech by providing exposure to our Tech Stack and the opportunity to work on real-life projects.

Over the 8 weeks, interns will have support from their mentor and manager, and at the end of a successful internship, they will potentially receive a graduate offer.

Tech Graduate Programme

Our Tech Graduates embark on a rotational programme, starting with an introduction to our operational areas to understand our systems and processes, before undertaking placements in areas such as Data Warehouse, Digital and Tech Delivery. Previous Graduates have gone on to become fully-fledge Software Engineers, Developers and both Team and Project Managers.
