"Admiral Law’s Low Velocity Impact/Fraud Department are looking for talented and enthusiastic Case Handlers to manage a caseload of claims where opponents have raised veracity concerns that include:
- Low Velocity Impact (where it is suggested the accident was not of sufficient force to cause injury);
- Staged or induced accidents (where it is suggested our client deliberately caused an accident for financial gain)
- Phantom passenger claims (where the number of occupants in our client’s vehicle will be disputed).
- Other veracity concerns (where an opponent will raise other concerns about our client’s evidence, their injuries or financial losses).
As an ethical firm, we are of course committed to ensuring that only legitimate claims are advanced by us. However, we often see these allegations raised with limited or no objective justification and the LVI Department provide specialist support to meritorious clients who face such arguments.
This is a great opportunity to join an exciting area. Our existing team is made up of solicitors, legal executives and paralegals of mixed and broad experience.
The Roles:
We have several different functions within the department as follows: -
- Triage – Triage deal with the early stages of the process and information gathering after concerns have been raised by the opponent. They provide our clients with their first contact with the LVI department and are responsible for gathering evidence and obtaining relevant records/medical evidence.
- Pre-Litigation – Pre-litigation handlers review the evidence that has been obtained by Triage and after discussing matters with the client assess the prospects of the claim and decide whether the claim has reasonable prospects of success or not.
- Litigation – Our LVI Litigators deal with litigated cases. This is a fantastic opportunity to build on your technical experience.
We potentially have openings in each of these functions. Irrespective of the function you join, you will have the benefit of our bespoke case management system. You will be supported in your role such that you are able to manage your time effectively, ensuring adherence with Service Level Agreements and Court deadlines (if applicable).
The precise nature of the role will be dependent upon the function you join in the department but across all functions, being able to prioritise your work in a busy environment will be essential. Assessing the merits of an opponent’s arguments and the underlying prospect of success requires an analytical mind. Excellent communication skills are a must, and you will be required to use the telephone effectively and professionally to speak with clients, witnesses, opponents, and the Court. The successful candidates for this position will intially be training full time in our offices for the first 3 months in either our Cardiff or Swansea offices. Once your training has been completed, we will look to a Hybrid model of WFH for 3 days, and 2 days per week in either our Cardiff or Newport offices.
Appropriate training and support will be given for the successful candidates.
Applicants will be able to demonstrate:
- Strong grammar, punctuation and drafting skills
- Good telephone manner
- A keen eye for detail and research
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn
- A strong team ethos
- Use of their own initiative to get things done
- An ability to meet deadlines in a busy environment
- For those interested in a role in our Litigation function, prior Litigation experience is preferable.
