After his Law degree, Aden joined Admiral Law as a Case Handler. After years of progressing into various roles and qualifying as a Chartered Legal Executive, Aden is now an Operations Manager. Read his story below.
Hi Aden, how are you today?
I’m great thanks! Loving the sunshine at the moment.
Great to hear! Can you tell us a bit about what Admiral Law is?
Admiral Law is a legal practice, and we specialise in personal injury claims, usually ones arising from road traffic accidents. So, when someone’s involved in an accident, we’re there to help deal with the claims and provide legal support throughout. We also look after a few specialist areas, handling some non-road traffic accident claims, allegations of fraud or more serious injuries and complex claims.
So, what do you do at Admiral Law and how long have you been working here?
I’m currently the Quality and Governance Operations Manager, which means I oversee our Audit, Training and Compliance areas and make sure that they run smoothly. It’s quite busy day to day, with a typical day involving drafting documents, meetings with Managers and Operations Managers across the business, but no day is the same. I’ve been working at Admiral Law for seven and a half years, it’s gone by so fast!
How did you get into your role? What’s your background?
I went to Swansea University to study Law and graduated in 2013. I then joined Admiral Law on a graduate scheme in 2014 and progressed from being a Handler, to an Advanced Handler, to a Senior Handler, to a Team Manager in 2018, and now an Operations Manager in 2022. I’ve really enjoyed progressing in my career here, and the experience I had of being a Handler has been invaluable for my current role.
What’s been your biggest highlight working here?
There've been many highlights and progressing in the company has been a great highlight each time, but I would say qualifying as a Chartered Legal Executive in 2021 is something that really stands out to me. I was lucky that Admiral Law sponsored me for this, so it’s something I look back on with great appreciation.
What makes Admiral Law a special place to work?
I would say that your background or where you’ve come from really doesn’t matter here, if you want to progress in the business, what matters is how hard you work and what your ambitions are. People here will support you all the way if you have a clear idea of what you want to do and show dedication in getting there. I’ve experienced first-hand how an encouraging working culture can make a big impact on your career progression, and to me that’s what makes Admiral Law a very special place to work.
