We have a new opportunity for an IT People Change Manager. Admiral is a high-growth digital business that increasingly leverages modern technology to realise its ambitions. Our technology teams are at the heart of our success, and we recognise that our approach to talent (attract, develop, reward, and retain) is a fundamental enabler to achieving business outcomes and providing great customer service.

This role has been created to ensure we successfully embed People best practice and drive constant improvement across our IT teams. It will work closely with our People Services (PS) function to ensure our learning, talent management and reward pathways are updated and embedded to attract and retain top technology talent, whilst ensuring that we are growing the right skills to support Admiral in the future.

Job Purpose

Work with People Services to support the delivery of any people change and OD/E plans across IT, with a specific focus on:

  • Evolving and embedding frameworks and processes consistently across the department, improving how we attract, recognise, retain and reward talent
  • Developing, deploying, and maintaining a career framework for IT, with associated technical and non-technical competencies and compensation packages for all technology roles
  • Ensuring a variety of learning and development options are in place and accessible for people to grow their technical and non-technical skills
  • Defining, implementing, and managing consistent annual review processes, to enable a clearer link between company strategy and team/individual goals

Accountabilities & Responsibilities

  • Collaborate across the IT department to create actionable deliverables and plans for people change, including roadmap, requirements, communications, coaching, training and stakeholder management
  • Manage impact analysis, stakeholder management, and communications across the department, as needed
  • Ensure the development and monitoring of key performance indicators and monitor progress against KPI’s.
  • Ensure our approach to people change is inspiring our people, acting as a voice and champion of the department on the people change agenda
  • Role model the behaviours that encourage a high standard of delivery, whilst ensuring these are focussed on achieving measurable outcomes
  • Ensure an ongoing a culture of compliance, risk and control, are factored into design and delivery as relevant.
  • Ensure that the customer is ‘front and centre’ in everything that the organisation does, making sure that we treat customers fairly
  • Make a significant contribution to the culture of the department, ensuring that we uphold the four pillars of “Communication, Equality, Reward and Recognition and Fun”

Experience and Skills

Leadership and Industry

  • Significant knowledge and experience of implementing change management principles, methodologies, and tools.
  • Strong understanding of how people journey through change and experience of leading change across a large-scale, complex environment.
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills with the ability to keep track of deliverables
  • Experience of implementing performance, talent and career management frameworks
  • Ability to think and act strategically, as well as recognising when to act tactically
  • Flexibility to work in ambiguous situations, highly matrix environments, and support other cross program work-streams, as vital.
  • Excellent ability to communicate clearly to a variety of audiences and to influence others
  • Experience managing and building cross-functional project and change management teams
  • Proven ability to support, encourage and develop team members
  • High level of integrity, energy and sense of urgency to make things happen.
  • Ability to establish and maintain trust, credibility and build strong relationships.
  • Excellent communicator with ability to negotiate, influence and explain, particularly to large business teams and geographically distant area
  • Budget management skills

Optional

  • Prosci change management or Change Management Professional™ (CCMP™) certification
  • Experience in product development life cycles and working in a lean-agile way
  • Experience of working in a FTSE 100 or equivalent business with a large (1000 FTE+) IT function
  • Experience operating within regulated environments including external regulated consumer products and service offerings
