We are seeking a visionary and experienced Head of Product (Website) to lead the strategic direction, development, and optimization of our website. This role is pivotal in ensuring that our online presence aligns with our business goals and delivers an exceptional user experience. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in website product ownership, team leadership, and a keen understanding of market trends and user needs.
Responsibilities
- Working as Part of a Scaled Agile Delivery Setup: Collaborate with cross-functional teams in a scaled agile environment to deliver projects effectively and efficiently.
- Strategic Planning: Develop and implement a comprehensive product strategy that drives website growth and engagement, aligns with business objectives, and enhances the overall user experience.
- Own the delivery of the overall website roadmap working closely with the relevant delivery, architecture and business functions, and actively prioritise development to deliver maximum value
- Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of product managers, designers, developers, and other stakeholders to ensure cohesive product delivery and continuous improvement.
- Product Development: Oversee the entire product lifecycle from ideation to launch, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality website features and improvements.
- Managing a Change Backlog Based on Value: Prioritize and manage the change backlog to ensure that the highest value features and improvements are delivered to the business. Collaborate with stakeholders to understand their needs and ensure the backlog is aligned with business objectives.
- Help develop future phases of delivery, focusing on shifting beyond capability implementation to value extraction
- Market Research: Conduct market analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and competitive landscape to inform product decisions and strategy.
- User-Centric Design: Advocate for and implement user-centric design principles, ensuring that the website meets the needs and expectations of our target audience.
- Performance Metrics: Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of website initiatives and use data-driven insights to make informed decisions
- Being responsible for the recruitment, performance management, development and engagement of all staff within the product team
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams including marketing, sales, IT, and customer service to ensure alignment and support for website initiatives.
- Budget Management: Manage the product budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources and maximizing ROI on website projects.
- Compliance and Security: Ensure the website complies with relevant regulations, standards, and best practices, maintaining a secure and reliable online environment.
Skills Required
- Product management experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role focused on website product ownership.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in web technologies, UX/UI design principles, and analytics tools. Familiarity with Agile methodologies is preferred.
- Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire cross-functional teams, foster collaboration, and drive results.
- Analytical Thinking: Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
- Problem-Solving: Creative and strategic thinker with a proactive approach to identifying and solving problems.
- Customer Focus: Deep understanding of user-centred design and the ability to advocate for the customer in all product decisions.
