Head of Financial Planning and Analysis

Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, this role offers an opportunity to lead the FP&A function of the UK lending business of Admiral Group, Admiral Money, for a period of 12 months to cover maternity leave.

Admiral Money is an exciting, new division of Admiral Group. We have the freedom and innovation of a small start up with the security of a large parent company, Admiral.

The journey started when we launched unsecured personal loans in June 2017. We went on to be the first direct to consumer car finance provider in December 2017. Since then, we have gone from strength to strength and have some exciting plans for the future.

We’re looking for people who are keen to learn, excited about getting stuck in and are ready for a challenge to help us to achieve our aim of creating a special lending business for our customers.

Responsiblities

• Leading the Financial Planning and Analysis function in Admiral Money
• Own the forecasting and budgeting process for Admiral Money, providing timely and accurate projections as required by stakeholders
• Update and review the financial forecasting model
• Partner with all business areas to:
  • Create accurate forecasts
  • Identify risks to meeting targets, and opportunities to exceed them
  • Work together to mitigate risks and realise opportunities
  • Communicate actual performance and updated forecast performance vs budget
• Cost out – work to get cost efficiency, including through working with the procurement team to ensure best possible terms on contracts are achieved
• Own the cost centre structure and create or amend as required
• Review P&L performance vs plan and provide commentary of variances
• Developing a good understanding of the activities of the business and a strong working relationship with managers across the business, in order to be able to provide insightful analysis. Specifically, working with the credit risk and product teams to establish profitability modelling. Allowing informed decision making about product and channel mix with a view to maximizing profitability
• Stress testing of the loans budget and operational plans
• Providing general financial support and completing ad-hoc tasks as required by Loans managers
