About Admiral Money
Admiral Money is an exciting, new division of Admiral Group. We have the freedom and innovation of a small start up with the security of a large parent company, Admiral.
The journey started when we launched unsecured personal loans in June 2017. We went on to be the first direct to consumer car finance provider in December 2017. Since then, we have gone from strength to strength and have some exciting plans for the future.
We’re looking for people who are keen to learn, excited about getting stuck in and are ready for a challenge to help us to achieve our aim of creating a special lending business for our customers.
About the role
Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, this role will lead the financial reporting team as Financial Controller at Admiral Money. This role is a fixed term 18 month position, as a result of maternity leave.
Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and coaching to members of the financial reporting team
- Responsible for the monthly financial reporting for the business under the IFRS standards, ensuring timely and accurate accounts are published
- Preparation and documentation of the IFRS 9 Impairments Provision for the business with updates to the model and methodology to reflect portfolio and market changes
- Ensure interest swap derivative arrangements are correctly reported under the IRFS 9 hedge accounting requirements
- Ensure adequate capital is held in AFSL, in line with Board requirements
- Refresh and update the annual going concern stress test models and papers
- Lead the relationship with the auditors, and ensure timely and accurate data provision
- Work with Admiral Group to produce the annual statutory accounts for AFSL and related entities
- Ownership of Financial Controls of the business, including updating and testing to ensure in line with UK SOX requirements.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience
- Self-motivator, pro-active in all aspects of the role.
- Qualified accountant with strong academic background
- Financial Services experience, ideally in lending
- Strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with and influence all types of people
- Strong Excel skills are essential, this role will extensively use spreadsheets
Salary, Benefits and Work-Life Balance
We do not have a set salary for this position, as it will be dependent on the successful candidate’s experience. We are happy to see CVs from all candidates who meet the requirements and will be happy to discuss the remuneration package.
