"We have an exciting opportunity within the Studio in Marketing for a Software Developer. This is a fantastic opportunity, for someone with web development experience to have a direct impact on the Admiral Group’s websites.

As a Developer, you will be responsible for developing changes on all our brands' websites. This is to include the building of websites and web pages. You will need to deliver high quality, maintainable and efficient code to defined standards. We require you to keep up to date with the latest development technology. You will need to be able to work as part of a team as well as on an individual basis, and you will be able to multi-task and prioritise workloads. We are looking for a junior to mid-level developer, but are happy to consider applications from more senior developers too.
- Building websites and web pages, to meet the requirements of internal stakeholders.
- Amend and update content on webpages.
- Implement new functionality, as required by the business.
- Provide accurate estimates and manage multiple tasks, with many dependencies.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work closely with key stakeholders.
- You will need to deliver secure, high quality and maintainable code, in line with our development guidelines.
Experience and Qualifications Required
- PHP Development using standard frameworks such as Zend and Symfony.
- Development of HTML and CSS (SASS) modular architecture for usable, accessible, web standards compliant websites.
- Use of GIT or other similar version control system.
- Development of complex interactive components using languages, libraries, and techniques including JavaScript, jQuery, and AJAX.
- Development of mobile specific and responsive templates.
Essential skills
- Strong attention to detail, with excellent analytical skills.
- Ability to communicate constructively and confidently and work well with others.
- A passion for web development.
- An inquisitive mind that is keen to continue learning and developing.
Desirable
- Experience of working with Continuous Integration.
- Working knowledge of Cloud Hosting (AWS and Azure)
- Understanding of client-side JavaScript frameworks (React / Angular)
- Developing within a Drupal 7/8 environment using Twig template language
Additional Information
- This is a hybrid role where you will come into the office 1-2 times per week, however we are happy to look at fully remote postion for the right candidate.
