About the job

We are expanding our Brand Communication's team as part of Admiral's continued success and ambitious growth plans for the UK's insurance and personal finance markets.

It’s an exciting time to join the SEO team responsible for increasing the number of organic visitors to Admiral’s UK websites and generate more search driven leads for the business.

You will work cross functionally with marketing, product and creative teams, as well as business stakeholders, agencies, and other partners to help deliver the SEO strategy for our business.

This will involve running multiple projects at once and delivering long term strategies to achieve high-ranking placements in the results page of search engines.

Main Duties

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Improving our Google Page Speed scores and moving up the rankings to increase customer acquisition through our organic channel.
  • Working collaboratively with the Content, Design and Web Production teams to make changes to existing and new landing pages based on research in line with Google quality guidelines.
  • Working closely with the Content and PR team on the optimisation and creation of editorial content to support SEO and link acquisition.
  • Monitoring and reporting of performance, progress against targets, search engine rankings, team KPI’s and ongoing optimisation of campaigns in line with marketing objectives - presenting to stakeholders as required.
  • Work closely with wider teams to maintain site health and mitigate negative impacts from algorithm updates and competitor activities.
  • Identifying and investigating problems or blockers, coming up with creative solutions to resolve performance issues.
  • Daily SEO optimizations from keywords, alt tags and meta descriptions to SEO focused content to drive traffic.
  • Helping to maximise SEO benefit from products, above-the-line campaigns and any other company initiatives.
  • Working with external suppliers to ensure that tasks and projects are delivered on time, and providing data and support to them as required.
  • Supporting and running digital landing page optimisation test plans; including building and testing new landing pages, and analysing the effectiveness and performance of landing pages using a range of sources.
  • Ensuring all work aligns with marketing, compliance, IT and product team requirements.
  • Keeping up to speed with changes within the SEO industry and changes to Google’s algorithm.
  • Supporting the marketing team on other campaigns and projects as required  through optimisation and creation of editorial content to support SEO and link acquisition.

Skills & Experience

You’ll need to:

  • Have strong SEO experience with hands-on experience using platforms like WordPress, GA, GSC and SEM Rush.
  • Have basic HTML knowledge to support with identifying and fixing issues
  • Have data experience to optimize content and understand our customers
  • Be a creative thinker who can work accurately under pressure.
  • Be highly literate with excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Be confident leading meetings and presenting ideas or results to key stakeholders.
  • Have the ability to work independently, but also closely with a team.
  • Be highly organised, with the capacity to prioritise and work across multiple projects.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft and Google suites.
  • Use of Jira or similar project management tool an advantage.

Additional Information

  • We will review your CV within 5 working days of application and get back to you.
  • We are a hybrid working team and you will be required to come to our Cardiff office 2 days per week (or more if you prefer).
  • We will give you everything you need to work comfortably from home.

Please note - we may close this vacancy early if we receive lots of applications or business priorities change.
