Senior Credit Risk Analyst

Admiral Money seeks an experienced credit risk professional to join our ambitious fintech team as a Senior Credit Risk Analyst. In this role, you will leverage your analytical expertise to shape strategic lending decisions and credit risk models.

Admiral Money is an exciting, new division of Admiral Group. We have the freedom and innovation of a small start up with the security of a large parent company, Admiral. 

The journey started when we launched unsecured personal loans in June 2017. We went on to be the first direct to consumer car finance provider in December 2017. Since then, we have gone from strength to strength and have some exciting plans for the future.

We’re looking for people who are keen to learn, excited about getting stuck in and are ready for a challenge to help us to achieve our aim of creating a special lending business for our customers.

Core Responsibilities 

• Perform in-depth analysis on portfolio trends and market data to identify opportunities to refine our credit strategy and lending footprint
• Develop proposals and provide subject matter expertise to inform credit risk models and team discussions
• Collaborate cross-functionally to challenge current methodologies and drive continuous improvement
• Communicate complex analyses, insights, and proposals clearly and effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Essential Skills 

• Previous experience in an analytical credit risk or related role
• Experience working in Financial Services
• Proficiency with SQL and advanced Excel skills
• Proven ability to analyse data, identify trends, and draw strategic insights
• Strong critical thinking and problem solving skills
• Passion for improving processes and championing innovation

Desirables 

• Proficiency with PowerBI and Python
• An undergraduate degree in either Finance, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field strongly preferred
