"An exciting opportunity to join a high-performing, recently established Group Communications team, working closely with communications colleagues across the Group and with other business areas including marketing, investor relations and human resources.
Reporting to the Head of Group Communications, the Senior Corporate Affairs Manager would act as the Deputy for the Head of Group Communications.
Main duties:
- Support the delivery of corporate announcements including financial results, M&A and Board changes and create relevant Q&A documents and scripts.
- Develop proactive and reactive corporate affairs and issues management strategies and positions to promote and protect the reputation of the Group and its local businesses.
- Provide strategic reputation management advice and support to the brands, functions and markets through reactive and proactive issues handling.
- Lead on the communication of the Group’s sustainability programme.
- Monitor the external media and political landscape to identify and act on emerging trends, issues and opportunities.
- Prepare Admiral Group spokespeople for media and parliamentary briefings and other external engagements.
- Arranging external media training sessions for Admiral Group spokespeople.
- Develop relationships with relevant journalists and parliamentarians.
- Build and maintain a strong network of internal contacts across our operations in Canada, France, India, Italy, Spain, the UK and the US.
Skills required:
- Significant communications experience across corporate communications, issues/crisis communications, media relations and government relations.
- Exceptional and flexible written and oral communication skills.
- Strong judgement and understanding of the internal and external landscape and an ability to bring the outside in.
- Experience of working in a regulated industry – experience of working within a listed or corporate company.
- Calm under pressure and discretion when dealing with confident matters.
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines, often under time pressure, while maintaining high standards and attention to detail.
- Comfortable working in cross functional, multi-disciplinary teams and navigating an international organisation.
- Knowledge of social media and some experience of working with social media teams.
- Track record of delivering impactful communications.
- Cultural sensitivity and resilience.
- Confidence, credibility and gravitas to deputise for the Head of Group Communications and advise the Group’s Executive team.
- Must be fluent in English; other European languages a bonus.

We do not have a set salary for this position, as it will be dependent on the successful candidate’s experience. We are happy to see CVs from all candidates who meet the requirements and will be happy to discuss the remuneration package.
