We have a new opportunity for a People Governance Executive. You will be responsible for the review, support and development of the People Risk Framework within the People Services Department.

You will review and challenge the People teams, and the wider business, to ensure that people risks are identified, managed, measured and controlled, optimising the ability to balance risk and reward.

You will also have additional governance responsibilities such as ensuring relevant policies are up to date and evidenced, supporting the collation of Group Minimum Standards information to ensure the People Department is complying effectively against them.

Main Duties

  • Facilitate regular risk reviews of known and emerging risks, monitoring of risks against the risk appetite and KRIs with the people function.
  • Translate the risk assessment results into insights and language appropriate for HR (Human Resources) professionals, Senior Management, and other key stakeholders.
  • Manage risk events when identified. Work with the various parts of the business to manage people-related risk events and ensure that issues are resolved effectively, lessons are learned, and that accountability sits with the right owners within the business.
  • Provide consultancy and support HODs and managers in managing risk within their areas via education and awareness sessions (workshops, additional training etc) within the People teams.
  • Produce analysis and reporting of the risk and control environment ensuring timely identification of themes and emerging risks, issues and exposure and provide recommendation for action to allow reporting to relevant Committees.
  • Support the collation, communication, and adherence to the People Services Group Minimum Standards.
  • Ensuring policies are aligned with the Group and EUI Risk and Control framework. Support managing the Group Policy activities, such as Conflict of Interest (COI); Whistleblowing and Anti-Bribery Policy.
  • Assess the impact of change within EUI against our risk profile and support change initiatives and projects that impact our people.
  • Bring the outside in to remaining aware of leading practices on managing risk and keep up to date on current industry practises and implement change where needed ensuring timely insight on industry thinking for risk in general and HR.

This is not a full definition of the role but covers the main aspects and drivers for success.

Experience and Qualifications Required

Essential:

  • Commercially aware, proactive, forward looking, inquisitive with an excellent attention to detail.
  • Working on own initiative, with the ability to introduce fresh thinking to the role and the wider Risk team.
  • Excellent interpersonal, influencing and communication skills (both written and verbal).
  • The ability to make effective and informed decisions.
  • Quickly understands the business issues and challenges of the business.
  • The ability to develop clear, efficient and logical approaches to tasks and problems.
  • The ability to understand the needs and priorities of customers (inside and outside the organisation) and the desire to meet their expectations.

Desirable:

  • A strong understanding of the current regulatory landscape, macroeconomic environment and risk management techniques.
  • Experience of working in a governance or risk role.

Salary, Benefits and Work-Life Balance
