It’s an exciting time in the World of Learning at Admiral. It’s filled with creativity, curiosity and endless opportunity.  With the constant advancement of EdTech, digital technologies and learning techniques we are enhancing our blending learning offering, delivering impactful and timely learning to our customers across the Admiral Group.

As part of a re-structure of the wider L&D department, we have built a new, dedicated team of learning designers, technical developers and media developers.  This is an exciting opportunity for an experience learning professional, to help shape our learning design and development strategy, build the design and development team and enhance our learning offering to create impactful learning.

This role will suit someone with significant L&D background, who is passionate about learning, is an experience manager and is great with stakeholders at all levels of the business.  Experience in learner centric design and development is a must as well as knowledge of learning innovation tools, technologies and techniques.

 

Core responsibilities

The main aim of role will be to enable the learning designers and developers to provide excellent solutions to meet business requirements across all learning needs.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Use their knowledge of applied learning science and human-centred design every single day to make amazing learning happen.
  • To innovate, develop, inspire and line manage a team of learning designers and developers.
  • Proactively liaise with senior business partners to understand their learning needs.
  • With the support of the Learning Programme Manager and Support Team, to plan the workload for the team in order to successfully deliver the businesses learning needs.
  • Propose and implement new learning methods, processes and technology based on an understanding of what great looks like both inside and outside of Admiral.
  • Ensure that Admiral’s learning pathways and assets are engaging and impactful and are aligned with our strategic objectives and the learners needs.
  • Support your team with the design and development of learner journeys and assets, the delivery of stakeholder run throughs and train the trainer events.
  • Integrate learning measurements into the learning design of all assets and analysis learning insights to ensure that learning outcomes are met and our offerings solutions continuously improve.
  • Working in collaboration with the wider team to define and create new learning solutions including designing prototypes and learning assets.
  • Bring learning to life utilising learning technologies, tools and media.

  • Proactively keeps up to date with the latest learning trends, approaches, tools and technologies.
  • Creative and innovative thinker with a tendency to try, test and learn new ways of working and to inspire the others to continuously develop.
  • A board knowledge of applied learning science and human centric design.
  • Expertise in a wide range of learning approaches, the design of learning journeys and assets, utilisation of authoring tools and the development of impactful learning.
  • Ability to scope requirements and conceptualise learning solutions to meet strategic objectives or stakeholder requirements.
  • Extensive blended learning design and development capability for a wider range of professionals across the financial sector or a board range of business sectors including instructional, eLearning, learning technology and multimedia design.
  • Technical expertise in a range of Digital and Multimedia software tools and technologies (Storyline, Rise, Adobe Suite).
  • Experience of designing learning for a range of learning technology including apps, gamification, AR/VR/MR, collaborative tools, AI and bots is highly desirable.
  • An excellent eye for detail and measures learning impact, analyses learning insights and implements improvement measures.

  

Support and reporting lines

  • The Learning Studio Manager will report into the Learning and Development Manager.
  • This role manages a team of Learning Designers, Technical Developers and Multimedia Developers.
  • This role will work closely with the Solution Architects, Learning Facilitation Manager, Facilitators, Learning Technologies Manager, Learning Platform Manager, Programme Manager, Learning Insights Consultant and Talent Support Team.
  • The Learning Studio Manager will also work with: People Services Business Partners, Learning Specialists and stakeholders in business functions and support function stakeholders with learning requirements.

 

Location

Admiral Group have a flexible working policy with remote, office and hybrid working options.  Ideally, you will be able to commute to our office in Cardiff or Swansea on a weekly basis.

Salary, Benefits, and Work-Life Balance

We do not have a set salary for this position, as it will be dependent on the successful candidate’s experience. We are happy to see CVs from all candidates who meet the requirements and will be happy to discuss the remuneration package.
