"Role purpose
People Direct is the name for the team that is the first point of contact for colleagues that have a people (HR (Human Resources)) query. This role is to manage that service which is a shared service that focuses on providing a no touch, low touch service for all employee people needs with a highly personalised, expert, and accessible service when it is needed.
This will be delivered through multiple channels (such as webchat, email, SMS) and simple processes with effective measurement and continuous improvement. Initially, this role will help set this up as well as develop into a business as usual (BAU) position.
Key activities
- Design and deliver a best-in-class service for our internal and external customers that use the People Direct service. Build and develop a strong, team, multiskilled in all aspects of HR, which is highly motivated and engaged
- Understand HR practices and the technical aspects that underpin them, for example contract law and translate into ways of working.
- Coach and develop colleagues, both in and out of your direct team, to get the most out of them
- Process design, initiation, and improvement in conjunction with key stakeholders
- Define, design, and create appropriate MI (Management Information) in conjunction with the relevant stakeholders
- Develop SLAs (Service Level Agreements) with the business and manage delivery of services to those SLAs
- Develop and manage KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) and KRIs (Key Risk Indicators) and manage the services to those KPIs and KRIs
- Design efficient processes that support people practices Regularly communicate the ongoing vision of service, development, and delivery against agreed outcomes such as SLAs, KPIs, KRIs.
- Effectively manage change ensuring that the teams are always change ready
- Manage team resources effectively to ensure that People Direct delivers exceptional service
- Provide overall governance on the full range of employee services that sit within People Direct (which will change from time to time).
- Bring the outside in: ensure that Admiral has adopted best practice by learning from other organisations, industry developments and emerging ideas in shared services.
- Work with the People Systems team, IT, and other stakeholders to ensure that the way that the technology used to deliver the services is fit for purpose (subject to business requirements)
Business partnering
- Align with the business strategy to support a Smart Working model
- Link with the various areas across the People Department to ensure that the services offered are fit for purpose and support their aims and requirements.
- Link with the business more widely to ensure that the services offered align to the needs of employees and the business and are effective.
- Horizon scan for any changes within the business and externally that the service needs to anticipate or respond to.
Risk Management
- Identify and mitigate risks within the People Direct function. Escalate any risks that may affect People Department or the business more widely.

Qualifications
- Good general level of education
- CIPD or equivalent
- Degree calibre preferred
Experience
- Experience of working within organisations and creating new teams and processes
- Management knowledge and Experience
Skills and Knowledge
- Solid working knowledge of ccurrent employment legislation and HR best practice
- Excellent communication
- skills, both verbal and written
- Data evaluation skills
- Demonstrable persuasion/strong influencing skills
