The Role
Our People Services (HR) department are looking for a HR Business Partner with extensive and successful experience in delivering large business change and integration projects.
The role will involve giving end-to-end support to the business in remodelling and restructuring business areas of the organisation. Keeping customers front and centre in thought processes and helping win the hearts and minds of employees to deliver exceptional people change.
Key Activities
- Work with the business (where required PMO) in light touch project managing the remodelling and restructuring both from a People Services and business perspective to ensure the delivery of the project outcomes.
- Work with the business to identify project deliverables, supporting them in the development of the strategy and the rationale for change and the phasing of the implementation.
- Ensure any rationale for change must be both legally and commercially robust to form the basis of any subsequent consultation proposal documentation.
- Engage with the business aligned Senior and/or People Services Executives to work with them to deliver change across their business areas
- Work with the business to develop and write detailed Job Descriptions and Person Specifications including competencies.
- Work with the business Heads and Head of People Operations to challenge where necessary the detail around any remodelling exercise taking into account the cost efficiencies, proposed structure, skills required, and risk to the organisation etc.
- Continue to support and maximize on employee engagement initiatives during any remodelling exercise and to implement processes to mitigate any risks in this area
- Work with the Head of People Operations and the business to develop a communication strategy for any remodelling exercise as part of the project plan.
- Responsible for post remodelling work with the business in identifying any skills development required as part of the plan.
- Work with the business in managing the consultation process with employees and staff representatives to ensure the detail is both understood and implemented, and that the legal process underpinned with supporting documentation is adhered to at every stage.
- Quickly embed in the relevant business area Change PS Business Partner and attend and actively participate meetings relevant to the change from the earliest stages possible.
- Develop long term and trusted relationships with the business heads to ensure early engagement in change management.
- Understand the commercial strategies and pressures of the business to be able to tailor support for change now and the future.
- Provide coaching, guidance and challenge to the business managers in the application of people practices, policies and procedures and to minimize risk and financial exposure during any change initiative.

Supporting the PS Team in general:
- Increase the perceived value of People Services to all stakeholders and establish credibility as an expert in Human Resources to support the business areas in achieving its outcomes and deliverables.
- Contribute to the development of people strategies and the annual planning process.
- Work with the Head of Learning and Development in identifying, developing and implementing learning strategies and programmes, including induction, management development, and compliance training etc ready for change.
- Equip stakeholders with appropriate tools, knowledge and expertise to effectively manage their people in line with their people plans and in particular change.
- Improve service levels and alert where issues and projects may impact in other areas.
- Ensure all relevant legislative requirements including those relating to diversity, sexual orientation, disability and age are embedded in the business and to advise and guideline managers in these areas.
- To drive, influence and support the cultural and people aspects of organisationalchange, structure and people processes and improvement initiatives in order to improve efficiency and effectiveness in people management.
- Managing and dealing with day-to-day employee relations issues ensuring equity, care, dignity and respect in the treatment of staff.
Risk Managment
Responsible for risk mitigation during the change process in relation to Human Resources policies and procedures and best practice and any other risk as identified by you which could compromise success of change or the business more widely.
Essential Experience and Qualifications
- Good general level of qualifications (CIPD or equivalent)
- Extensive hands-on experience in organisational restructuring and remodelling
- Experience of working within organisations and responsible for change initiatives
- Solid project management experience
- TUPE and M&A experience
- Extensive consultation experience both collective and individual
- Ability to work with and challenge legal counsel both in the development of consultation documentation and consultation process

- Solid working knowledge of current employment legislation and HR best practice
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
