"About the Role
Household Insurance is a key part of Admiral’s strategy for the upcoming years. In the 8 years since we launched our Household product, we have grown to over 1.1m customers and we are looking for talented leaders to join our Pricing team and help us drive forward our ambitions for further growth in this market.
The Head of Household for Emerging Household Products will be responsible for leading pricing of the following products/lines of business:
- Our direct to market InstaQuote proposition, where we seek to offer an accurate quotation based on asking very few questions of the customer
- Our recently launched Landlord product
- Any future household-related product innovations which fall outside our core home insurance offering
Whilst these areas are currently run from our Cardiff Headquarters, location and working arrangements are flexible, and we would be keen to hear from candidates from further afield. The role will report to the Head of Household Pricing.
Your Responsibilities
- Analysing and developing our pricing structures for our new products
- Maintaining a view of external data opportunities which could enhance our risk selection
- Communicating results with key decision-makers across the group, including the Head of Household and the Head of UK Insurance
- Collaborating with peers in other areas of Pricing, as well as other stakeholders, particularly in Product, Underwriting, and Claims
- Management and development of more junior members of the team
Essential Qualifications and Experience
- A detailed understanding of General Insurance Pricing, ideally in Home Insurance-related lines
- Proven ability to get into the detail and understand complex issues within modelling
- A track record of finding creative and intelligent solutions when problem-solving
- A track record of driving forward complex projects, both in terms of technical detail and where a wide range of business areas are involved
- Strong communication skills, including the ability to take complex mathematical topics and explain them to an audience with less detailed knowledge of the topic
- Experience in line management is beneficial
