The Landlord Insurance market is c£1bn GWP, one of the largest in the UK. 

In July 2019 we launched our landlord insurance product offline direct and as part of MultiCover with the ability to sell policies online launching in November 2022.  The active book size currently remains small at just over 16k, however, the growth opportunity is large given the market size.

As such, we have very ambitious plans to grow Landlord and are looking for someone to lead this growth.  Considerations are how the landlord product compliments existing Household products, how growth can be achieved without price comparison distribution and future product enhancements.

For the right candidate, this is a rare and exciting opportunity to take ownership of a product with large potential and to learn and develop new skills.

Role Overview & Key Areas of Responsibility

This is a senior position, reporting to the Head of Household and working closely with other senior managers.

It will suit someone who currently already has a significant amount of responsibility in the business and could either be a step-up opportunity or a step across to broaden your career in the long term.

  • Overall ownership of Landlord insurance product.
  • Ownership of Landlord P&L.
  • Strategic planning.
  • Budgeting and Financial planning.
  • Collaboration with Household Pricing on rating changes to improve and grow the business.
  • Collaboration with Household Claims on all aspects of Landlord claims.
  • Collaboration with Household Underwriting.
  • Product development, including exploring new product additions, smart home and alternative distribution strategies.
  • Optimisation of customer contact channels – both digital and telephony.

Your Profile

Essential

  • Experience of the Landlord market
  • Experience leading, mentoring and motivating a highly functioning team.
  • Expert stakeholder management and cross functional communication skills – not all areas that contribute to Landlord will directly report to you, so this is essential.
  • An analytical mindset, with the ability to turn insights into actionable recommendations and execution.
  • Results driven and commercially focussed.
  • Proven capability to overcome setbacks and keep momentum up and pointed towards continuous improvement.

Salary, Benefits, and Work-Life Balance
