We are looking for an experienced CI manager to join our People Team. Reporting to the Business Service Manager in our People Operations function, this new role will establish and lead a CI approach that drives impactful improvement of end-to-end HR processes, in collaboration with stakeholders inside and outside of the People Function.  

You will need to be well used to leading process improvement that reduces operational risk, improves user experience, and increases efficiency, whilst maintaining effective programme & process governance. You will be adept at collaborating with senior stakeholders, facilitating improvement workshops, process mapping and seizing opportunities for automation in a HR domain. Process management qualifications are desirable as is a membership of CIPD.

Key responsibilities

As the Continuous Improvement Manager you will:

  • Lead the Continuous Improvement process - Establish and maintain a standardised and sequential continuous process review approach that is informed by market best practice.  Ensure the approach includes stakeholder engagement, appropriate change & document controls and management of benefits.
  • Drive high-quality continuous improvement culture - Socialise the continuous improvement process to educate and promote understanding and engagement across People Operations team, process owners and wider stakeholders.
  • Prioritise processes for review – Develop, implement and maintain an approach to prioritise processes for review.
  • Conduct end to end process review - Facilitate individual process review:
    • Defining and engaging appropriate stakeholders
    • Developing ‘as-is’ process maps
    • Identifying risks, issues and inefficiencies of existing process and opportunities for improvement
    • Baselining current process
    • Creating ‘to be’ process maps and seeking stakeholder approval
    • Defining ‘to be’ benefits and improvement over baselines
    • Defining implementation approach, timescales, resources and plans
    • Ensuring the development of UAT scripts and UAT review in test environments prior to go live
    • Ensuring appropriate ‘end’ user and ‘process’ user comms of process changes
  • Horizon Scanning – Assess and keep up to date on market best practice for new and emerging continuous improvement techniques and controls.
  • Maintain documentation and benefit logs – Ensure document structure and version controls including MI on intended/ actual benefits realised or each process reviewed.

Essential Skills:

  • Significant experience of leading end to end process reviews with a demonstrable record of driving improvements.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to motivate and take people with you on change.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Organised and responsive, with ability to work to tight deadlines.

Desirable skills:

  • Qualification in a market recognised continuous improvement method(s).
  • Experience of HR policies and processes.
  • Experience of working with ambiguity and managing multiple projects.
  • Stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Numerate and a lateral thinker, good at data analysis, with a strong attention to detail.
