About the job

Our mission is to help more people to look after their future, always striving for better together. We want to make it easy for our customers to make the right decisions for them by providing simple and straightforward communications whenever they come into contact with us.

That’s why we’re looking for a new Content Writer with a consumer focus to join our content team with lead responsibility for producing helpful, engaging and accessible email communications for our products and brands.

You’ll primarily support the Senior Content Manager and work closely with our eCRM team to research, create and review copy for emails relating to motor, home, travel, pet and personal finance.

This is a great opportunity to build on your expertise and make a tangible difference to customers, working as part of a supportive team.

Some of these things you’ll be doing:

  • Produce compelling, engaging, relevant copy for marketing emails and newsletters that are sent to our customers (motor, home, travel, pet and personal finance).
  • Work with cross-functional teams to plan themes and contend for targeted and speculative email campaigns.
  • Review and edit customer facing letters and emails, ensuring content is compliant and in line with our Brand and Tone of Voice.
  • Work with relevant contacts to ensure that content is accurate and fully compliant with FCA regulations and Consumer Duty guidelines.
  • Help deliver projects from concepts to final output within deadlines, making sure that internal processes are followed and the relevant approvals are in place.
  • Work with the wider Content team to deliver Admiral’s content strategy and identify gaps to help shape the editorial calendar.
  • Attend regular meetings with the social media, PR, eCRM and Product teams to develop new and relevant content
  • Show initiative when it comes to creating new content and repurposing content.
  • Subedit internal copy to ensure that tone of voice and brand guidelines are adhered to.
  • Support the Content team to produce and commission web content, including landing pages and blog content.
  • Work closely with the Content team and SEO team to optimise content for SEO and help support Admiral’s SEO position through content edits, generation and keyword research
  • Monitor, evaluate and report on the success of the content activities and contribute to a monthly report.
  • Industry training will be provided and continuous professional development is actively encouraged.

Skills and experience required:

  • Excellent copywriting / editing skills and attention to detail
  • Be able to work successfully as part of a team but also independently using own initiative
  • Experience of creating copy for emails (and other customer facing marketing materials)
  • Good time management skills and able to prioritise workload while being flexible to change
  • Strong relationship-building and communication skills with a proactive, can-do attitude
  • Must be able to take decisions and escalate where appropriate
  • Knowledge of IT packages including Word, Adobe, Excel

Please note - we may close this vacancy early if we receive lots of applications or business priorities change.
