About the role

You will support the Content Manager and Content Editor to deliver our digital content strategy with responsibility for writing and updating web content across all Admiral direct insurance websites. You will also liaise with product teams across the business to ensure landing pages are accurate and up to date.

As a content writer you will

  • Help deliver Admiral’s content strategy and identify content gaps to inform the content calendar
  • Produce and commission web content including landing pages and blog content
  • Develop and manage relationships with freelancers/agencies who provide content
  • Sub-edit internal and externally commissioned copy ensuring tone of voice is adhered to
  • Draft and edit customer facing letters and emails, ensuring content is compliant and in line with tone of voice
  • Work closely with the Content Editor, SEO Executive and external SEO agency to optimise content for SEO and help support Admiral’s SEO position through content edits, generation and keyword research
  • Attend regular meetings with the social media, PR, eCRM and product teams to develop new and relevant content
  • Show initiative when it comes to new content and repurposing content
  • Help increase page views and time on page of website content
  • Monitor, evaluate and report on the success of the content activities and contribute to a monthly report
  • Help deliver link-building campaigns, projects and integrated campaigns from concepts to final output within tight deadlines 
  • Must be able to take decisions and escalate where appropriate
  • Complete regular company-wide internal training as well as relevant external training

Ideally you will have

  • Excellent copywriting skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
  • Good time management skills ability to prioritise workload while being flexible to change
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Good relationship-building skills
  • Excellent attention to detail 
  • Understanding and working knowledge of SEO best practice for content design
  • Familiarity with Google Analytics and SEO tools such as SEMrush is desirable
  • Eager to learn new things, explore digital technologies and find solutions with the resources available to you

 

Educational Qualifications Required:

  • A relevant degree or equivalent 
  • An understanding of editing and producing plain HTML for web pages.

 

Additional information

  • Our office is based in Cardiff with a hybrid approach to working. 1-2 days per week in the office (or more if you prefer)
  • We will give you everything you need to work comfortably from home
