Based in the Communications department, this role will deliver high-quality internal communications through a range of channels and in line with our Communications strategy.
Reporting into the Change Communication Senior Manager, this role is pivotal in ensuring large-scale change initiatives are communicated effectively and colleagues are supported throughout the change process.

The role holder will provide first-class communications support for organisational change programmes and projects across the business, supporting the delivery of an internal change communications strategy that lands change in the right way to the right audience, through the right channel, at the right time.

Using a collaborative and insight-led approach to change that incorporates and considers the colleague voice, the role holder will support colleagues through the change curve to effectively win hearts and minds around the change being delivered.
The role holder will be comfortable building narratives to talk to colleagues in a consistent and engaging way about change and continue to build awareness around how change links to the delivery of our business strategy.

The role holder should be comfortable dealing with senior managers and colleagues at all levels of the organisation. Working in a fast-moving environment, the role holder will be able to prioritise and manage several competing priorities.

The role holder will be a solid communicator, particularly as a strong writer and crafter of messaging, adapting style and format to different audiences and channels. They will need to be able to work independently, following the overall change strategy and supporting the Senior Change Communication Manager, as well as using their own initiative and adopting a proactive approach to take ownership of tasks and deliver the required workload.

Key Accountabilities 

  • Create and deliver a range of engaging and informative communications across a range of channels that support colleagues throughout the change they are experiencing, ensuring a smooth transition and high engagement levels.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to align communication plans with programme objectives and ensure effective support for programme deliverables.
  • Apply brand guidelines, communications principles and tone of voice appropriately across relevant channels.
  • Manage and deliver face to face and virtual channels including events.
  • Ensure all content is appropriate for audience and manage stakeholder expectations accordingly.
  • Where relevant, publish content to appropriate channels and ensure it is kept up-to-date and relevant.
  • Maintain change communications plans for projects and programmes ensuring there is a clear and structured narrative in place designed to ensure stakeholders are kept up to date.
  • Keep the Communications Strategic plan updated.
  • Actively manage, monitor, promote and respond to the voice of our colleagues through feedback loops (and social content channels).
  • Measure the effectiveness and success of communications activity and challenge and learn lessons from analysis of the data.
  • Be an ambassador for communications both in terms of team reputation and support provision / standard of communications produced.
  • Occasional travel may be required to support communication and engagement activities and events.

Key Skills, Qualifications and Experience

  • Excellent written communications skills, with a proven ability to craft compelling and audience-relevant messaging.
  • Experience in delivering communications for organisational change programmes, demonstrating a track record of successful change communications.
  • Solid verbal communication skills.
  • Experience of dealing with and managing senior stakeholders.
  • Experience of effectively crafting audience-relevant messaging.
  • Ability to support comms plans that appropriately line into business plans and strategy.
  • Ability to translate complex subject matter into accessible and engaging communications.
  • Experience of effective channel management.
  • An excellent eye for detail.
  • Effective time management skills - ability to work on multiple priorities, manage competing deadlines and work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to apply discretion, tact and confidentiality as appropriate
  • Empathy, adaptability and resilience.
