What is a graduate job?
A graduate job is a permanent position for those with a university degree. Typically designed for recent graduates, these roles provide a springboard into professional life. 87.7% of graduates are in employment, and graduate jobs are often the first building blocks of these careers. At Admiral, we have both direct entry graduate jobs and placements which allow you to get a taste of different areas of the business.

What happens in a graduate job?
At Admiral, our graduate jobs and programmes have a huge focus on introducing you to working life through learning and mentorship. With our direct entry roles, graduates will go straight into the role. Here’s a look at what our graduate programmes look like:
- General Graduate Programme: A two-year programme with six-month placements across various areas. Ideal for those who haven’t chosen the route they want to go yet, this will give you a flavour of different career options.
- Data Science and Data Analytics Graduate Programme: Designed for STEM graduates, this is a two-year programme with eight-month placements geared around analytical and data-heavy roles.
Are graduate jobs year-round?
For those with a STEM background, our direct graduate jobs are available year-round and applications are always open. Our General Graduate, Data Science and Data Analytics graduate programmes on the other hand have start dates in September.
Can I apply for a job before I graduate?
Yes, applying for a job before graduation is actively encouraged. Your final year is the perfect time to start the job search. We look for potential, so don’t be put off applying for graduate jobs if you’re still wrapping up your degree. Just ensure that your expected graduation date and projected grades are included in applications.
Can you apply for graduate jobs years after graduating?
Absolutely you can. We understand that career paths don’t always go in a straight line. We don’t have time limits on who qualifies for a graduate job. Wherever your post-degree life has taken you, you’re still welcome to apply even if you graduated a few years ago.
Can you get a graduate job without work experience?
You don’t need a stacked CV when landing a graduate job. Our graduate programmes are for those who are starting out, and we don’t expect you to have work experience. Your educational background will be more important.
For our Data/Analytics graduate programme, you’ll need a degree in a STEM or other numerical discipline. Our Emerging Talent programme requires a degree in any discipline.
