We caught up with him to talk about what it takes to deliver great customer service.
Hi Lewis, can you tell us a bit about your Admiral background?
I joined Admiral just over three years ago, and I’ve always been in the Customer Loyalty Contact Centre. I’ve always been a chatty person, and I’d heard amazing things about working at Admiral, so when I saw a Customer Advisor role come up, I grabbed the opportunity to join. Never looked back since!
As a Senior Customer Representative, you’re an expert in delivering excellent customer service. What tips can you share?
Excellent customer service is being able to match the customer’s needs, taking the time to really listen and understand exactly what the customer is looking to be supported with. I take pride in going the extra mile and making sure every customer interaction is as positive as possible. It’s a great feeling when your service can Make A Difference to someone’s day. There’s sometimes a misconception that working in a Contact Centre means having to deal with really hard calls day in and day out, but my experience has been that most customers just want to be supported in the best way, and if you listen to them and provide them with genuine, caring service, nine times out of ten you can have a positive experience. Yes, some calls can be quite hard, but that’s when you have the support of a great team around you!
What's your favourite thing about working at Admiral?
My favourite thing about working at Admiral is the people I work with. I feel like we’re one big family here and it’s such a great feeling. The culture here is something I had never experienced before. We have a motto, “people who like what they do, do it better”, and it honestly is so true. I couldn’t imagine working anywhere else.
Do you think you can reach your career goals here?
I progressed to a senior role within my first year at Admiral, so I’ve already seen first-hand how there are plenty of opportunities to Grow & Progress if you put the work in. We’re given a tremendous amount of support, within the department and beyond, and even if you’re someone who’s not exactly sure on which avenue to go down and don’t have specific career goals yet, that’s absolutely fine! There are opportunities to become an expert in your role, try different business areas, progress to more senior roles, whatever you want.
