The purpose of this role is lead Privileged Access Management (PAM) within Admiral.   Key responsibilities will be to manage the PAM team, own the strategy, drive the development, implementation and support of technology solutions, and to enforce secure and efficient privileged access controls.

This role offers the opportunity to work in a fast-paced and agile environment, to define product roadmaps, gather requirements from key stakeholders, collaborate with various teams within Admiral, and create a highly successfully Privileged Access Management function.

Main Duties:

  • Develop and maintain the PAM product strategy and roadmap, aligning it with business goals, group standards, regulatory requirements, and industry good practice.
  • Lead a multi-skilled product team, including analysts and engineers, in delivering privileged access controls.
  • Identify opportunities for enhanced privileged access controls in line with business risk appetite​.
  • Create and manage the PAM product backlog, ensuring that it reflects priorities and dependencies. Continuously refine and prioritise backlog items based on stakeholder feedback, emerging security threats, and changing business needs.
  • Collaborate with teams to design, develop, and implement PAM solutions and remediate vulnerabilities identified, lessons learnt from prior incidents, and resolve known issues.
  • Establish strong relationships with stakeholders and act as a trusted source on PAM matters, representing the PAM service for Security and IT governance committees as required. This also includes promoting the adoption of PAM services into their respective systems.
  • Proactively communicate updates, project statuses, and key milestones to stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.
  • Manage change activities, team budgets, and service level teams and their escalations, as well as the execution of services, ensuring that they are delivered in a timely manner to minimise impact on the business by key metrics.
  • Manage technology supplier relationships.
  • Work collaboratively with the IAM Compliance team in support of internal and external audit requirements.

Other duties include:

  • Deputise for the Head of IAM as required.
  • Proactively manage and address any risk issues relating to your assigned duties.
  • Documentation of processes and procedures that are specific to the scope of responsibilities, ensuring document compliance with Quality Standards.
  • Support, develop and motivate the team in line with Admiral Values, performing 1-2-1’s and appraisals, setting achievable objectives, supporting the creation of personal development plans, giving regular feedback and leading team members to achieve their full potential.
  • Maintain a skills and training matrix to support team development.
  • As a member of the Corporate Services IAM Leadership team; support operational priorities and assist other teams across the department where required.

Experience Required
Desirable: 

  • Experience of multiple technologies, including Cloud.
  • Delivering value in an agile organisation.
  • Experience within an ITIL v4 operational environment.

Essential:

  • Proven experience implementing and operating Privileged Access Management in a medium to large organisation.
  • Expert knowledge of PAM controls and best practice.
  • Experience of coaching and leading a team.
  • Strong stakeholder management & influencing skills.
  • Highly organised, with ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
