It is an exciting time for Admiral Money as it continues to build its young business to support our longer-term aspirations. As we increase focus within our operations function, we are looking for an Operations Analyst to support our growing operational area.

About Admiral Money

Admiral Money is an exciting, new division of Admiral Group. We have the freedom and innovation of a small start up with the security of a large parent company, Admiral. 

The journey started when we launched unsecured personal loans in June 2017. We went on to be the first direct to consumer car finance provider in December 2017. Since then, we have gone from strength to strength and have some exciting plans for the future.

We’re looking for people who are keen to learn, excited about getting stuck in and are ready for a challenge to help us to achieve our aim of creating a special lending business for our customers.

About the role

The successful person will be part of a small but growing Op’s team, although working closely with our analysis function.  They will need to be an ambitious individual, capable of supporting all operational areas as well as working with other areas of business including Credit risk and analytics and feeding back into working groups that will include the senior management team.

Working in close collaboration with the Servicing Team, Collections Team, the Underwriting team, and other areas of Admiral Money, you will support the teams to drive efficiencies, evolve our reporting and MI and offer deep level of insight on customer performance and behaviour.

The right person will be ambitious, customer centric, commercially astute, externally focussed and highly analytically minded, to ensure the Op’s function continues to deliver great customer service at optimum levels to achieve its aims.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership, People & Relationships

  • Lead on customer performance/insight within our customer facing areas of Admiral Money
  • Work within a cross-functional team to deliver on the team’s mission
  • Create good relationships across the key business functions

Analysis

  • Lead the evolution of Operational data insight and analysis
  • Understanding in detail each areas data and data needs
  • Monitoring the Operational data and communicating how it performs against the forecast and to analyse the source of any deviation.
  • Monitoring the market/competitors for new products and strategies

Building the Business through Data Driven Enablers

  • Feed into the creation and maintenance of data driven product roadmaps
  • Support the use of best-in-class product development and management practices
  • Effectively communicate the results of the operational area
  • Develop deep understanding of Operational principles and customer outcomes
  • Support the wider Operational arm to identify end to end enhancements 
  • Build awareness of market threats, and industry and competitor trends.
  • Research, understand and present information to support recommendations in a suitable format (slides, formal papers, etc)

Commercial Focus & Financials

  • Collaborate with the operational teams in enhancing MI as well as supporting the operational vision and strategy for each of the operational areas
  • Work to deliver against clearly measurable objectives and key financial results
  • Support managers and finance business partners to build data driven business cases for future change/enhancements
  • Develop your knowledge of P&L metrics and levers.

Risk Management

  • Monitoring MI on how the product is performing from a financial and customer perspective
  • Understand how proposed changes would impact the customer outcome, as well as the commercial and operational impact on the business
  • Identify risks/issues to the plan

About You

Desirable:

  • Experience within a product or customer/commercial focused role
  • Experience managing impactful deliverables
  • Experience managing internal stakeholders

Essential:

  • Able to work collaboratively within a high-performance team
  • Data literate, with a degree in a numerate subject or similar work experience.
  • Results driven and commercially aware
  • A proactive and positive mindset orientated towards continuous improvement and test and learn, embracing new ideas
  • An ability to understand how the lending business operates and a curiosity to explore how we can evolve and refine what we do

An ideal candidate would also likely have

  • Experience of SAS, SQL, Python, R , or similar programming languages
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in an analytical role
  • A professional qualification in a relevant financial subject (e.g. ACA, CFA)
  • An ability to leave their ego at the door each morning and embrace Admiral’s flat and open structure

Salary, Benefits and Work-Life Balance

We do not have a set salary for this position, as it will be dependent on the successful candidate’s experience. We are happy to see CVs from all candidates who meet the requirements and will be happy to discuss the remuneration package.
