To deliver the Group Reward proposition and support the commercial business goals. Jointly accountable for the Group Remuneration Committee paper production, as well as delivery of Executive Remuneration requirements.

Provide expertise on all reward matters across Admiral Group plc and contribute to the overall employment proposition. Partner with the entities and countries to support them with Reward initiatives and ensure a test/ learn/ scale approach within the Group. Develop Group tools and methods to implement in all entities and countries, and work in partnership with UK Reward.

Apply subject matter expertise to ensure full compliance with relevant legislation, including Solvency II. Build relationship with Group Risk and Compliance team to anticipate issues, respond to queries from regulators, raise understanding of Reward policies and provide information on how new processes may affect Reward topics.

The remit encompasses Total Reward, Executive Remuneration, Pay, Bonuses, Incentives, Benefits, Flexible Benefits, Share Schemes, Pensions, Performance Management.

Key Responsiblilites:

  • Develop, recommend, implement and manage the short, medium and long term strategies for reward; provide strategic and tactical advice and business counsel to the Group Head of Reward and senior leadership team.
  • Manage the Reward Analyst(s) and develop the wider team, ensuring that capability is aligned to meet the needs of the business and key initiatives.
  • Maintain controls and structures to assess and minimise risks that could adversely affect the achievement of strategic objectives or be damaging to corporate goals or image, and ensure the area operates effectively in adherence to the internal policies and the regulations and guidelines of relevant external authorities.
  • Embed a high-performing culture based on values and behaviours; ensuring that strategies and processes deliver the capability needed to meet objectives.
  • Provide advice, guidance and recommendations on the impact of the business direction on reward practice areas; managing change and investigating and implementing new approaches to support the direction of the Group.
  • Pro-actively develop and maintain networks internally and externally including PS, reward, employee representatives, regulatory bodies and supplier networks.
  • Work with Group Head of Reward to optimise the people costs within Admiral Group.

Skills/ Knowledge Required:

  • Regulatory Framework Requirements: Understanding of regulatory requirements and relevant expectations to ensure that business and financial affairs are managed with diligence and integrity.
  • Market knowledge: Understanding of the wider business, economic and market environment in which the Group operates to anticipate future market trends.
  • Business strategy and planning: Understanding of Admiral’s business strategy and model and translate vision into priorities within reward.
  • Technical HR expertise eg Executive Remuneration, Total Reward.
  • Proven success of working and influencing at Board level.
  • Strong experience of consulting at a senior management level.
  • CIPD and evidence of continuing professional development.
  • Relevant technical and professional qualification e.g. MA, MBA, MSC.
