As the only FTSE 100 company in Wales, and currently 6th in The Sunday Times Best Big Companies to Work For, Admiral is a passionate, profitable and fast-growing financial services company.
Based on innovation and organic growth Admiral has grown from being a small start-up into one of the largest car insurance providers in the UK. The company is constantly investigating new products, services and markets and is now in seven countries with a diverse product portfolio.
Admiral’s success goes hand-in-hand with having a strong people focused culture. We believe that happy people make happy customers and happy customers help increase profits. Our philosophy is a simple yet effective one: people who enjoy what they do, do it better.
Our more than 8,600 employees are right at the heart of our success. We put a lot of effort and investment into making sure our organisation is a happy place to work, where challenge and career development are encouraged and fun is never frowned upon. Admiral has an honest, open culture that’s wholeheartedly focused on four key areas: communication, equality, reward and fun.
About your career:
Admiral is dedicated to making sure that the majority of our promotions are filled internally across the company. In our Renewals department 100% of our promotions to Team and Ops manager are internal. This means you are our future.
Also, if you’re only interested in doing a good job in your current role, then after 3 years with us the average overall financial package for a consultant is £24,500. That’s an average figure, so if you really excel in your job you will earn even more!
About your benefits:
Admiral provide an excellent staff benefits package (even if we do say so ourselves!).
This includes up to £3,600 free shares each year. Did you know that since we started our staff share scheme, we have given away over 20 million shares to our staff? During 2015 a total of £17.7m worth of shares were awarded to employees. I think we can safely say you will definitely share in our success!
Our benefits are far reaching and range from discounts with local and national retailers, through to interest free train and bus season ticket loans (we are really easy to get to). You will also have staff and family discount (10% or more) on our range of products.
We offer convenient and cheap city centre parking on evenings and weekends, interest free buy a bike scheme (up to £1,000) – you can lock your bike up at our offices and shower if needed – plus free fruit every day and free gym use. For those of you thinking ahead, we also have a great pension scheme.
Our buy-a-book scheme allows you to buy books to enhance your personal development and we will meet that cost.
There’s an onsite canteen with a wide range of food and if you step outside the building there are nearby cafes, restaurants and shops
About the role:
Renewals is a diverse and rewarding department for which you’ll need excellent sales skills and a touch of customer service talent too. Dealing with our existing policyholders, you'll talk to people towards the end of their policy and do all you can to win their business once again. You’ll deal with customers who are unhappy with their renewal quote, want to leave or are looking to negotiate hard. You won’t be able to please everybody all of the time, so you’ll need to be a competent objection handler, keen negotiator and remain polite and professional at all times to help resolve any problems.
Accuracy and quality of service are really vital in Renewals. It should be your product knowledge, and friendly, helpful approach that make all the difference to our customers. You'll stay up-to-date with a set of standards and procedures designed to help you understand the policyholder's circumstances, ensuring they get the best possible service and value for money. The better the quality of your assistance, the more you earn: bonuses are awarded on a sliding scale according to service excellence.
It goes without saying that your phone manner is first rate, and that you have a positive and proactive approach when it comes to dealing with difficult circumstances. You’ll need to be an excellent negotiator and all-round communicator, as we’ll need you to persuade and influence people. If you have a call centre background, or have experience of dealing with customers, then that’s even better. You'll gain knowledge and skills during our training programme before taking to the phones to help save the customer's business. After all, it will be your superb service that sees us compete against those price comparison sites.
