Role Purpose

The BI Reporting Developer will lead a team of developers to ensure that data solutions are designed and delivered to meet the functional and non-functional demands of the business and customer. Our focus in data delivery is to provide a self-service platform to the business so they can make key decisions and drive innovation.

The Developer will work towards this goal with a team made up of other developers, testers, report builders, data modellers, analysts and administrators. The successful candidate will support what the team and what they develop and maybe expected to cover out of hours on-call.

Department Vision

The department is currently in a transition phase moving from a tactical solution to a strategic one. This project has been well received by the business and has already made an impact the day to day operations and decision making.

As part of this project, we have investigated new tools and methods of working that have seen an increase in the speed we can deliver. The vision will be to give more autonomy to the end users and allow them to make their own reports and dashboards freeing up developers’ time to add value with new functionality and innovations.

Going forward we are also looking at how we adopt cloud and big data technologies and what benefits this can bring the analytical teams throughout Admiral.

Requirements / Technologies

You will work with many technologies across all aspects of IT, the following technologies are core but experience is not essential.

  • MicroStrategy
  • Teradata and WhereScape
  • Oracle, SQL Server (2016)
  • Informatica

Must Haves

  • Good knowledge of SQL
  • Good BI tool experience i.e. MicroStrategy, Power BI, Tableau etc.
  • Knowledge of Agile delivery
