Job description

We are currently looking to recruit a Threat Intelligence Analyst to join Admiral’s Threat Intelligence team within our Information Security department. You will be working in a team to support all facets of the Threat Intelligence function, primarily collecting and curating threat information retrieved from a wide range of internal and external sources to disseminate cyber security intelligence to a diverse array of intelligence consumers within Admiral Group’s 18 brands spread across the globe. Deliverables can range from the novel detection of command & control frameworks to SOC analysts to the presentation of AI technology for example, Deep Fakes, to inform the business of emerging threats.

As a growing team with a flexible remit based on intelligence requirements, you have the prospect to conduct novel research, build Admiral’s connections within the industry and ultimately maximise organisational effectiveness at detecting and responding to evolving threats.

To succeed in this role, it is expected that the candidate will operate across the hierarchy and role boundaries to collect, synthesise and communicate the relevant outputs.  The candidate therefore needs to challenge the status quo, operate independently and on their own initiative to maintain pace and relevance at the speed of the external landscape.

Responsibilities

The Threat Intelligence Analyst will:

  • Curation and maintenance of threat profiles to understand the credible threat actors, campaigns and associated tactics, techniques and procedures in use
  • Use information regarding the control plane and the assets under protection to determine the likely attack paths
  • Correlating external data with internal telemetry to provide situational awareness and recommendation for security controls
  • Educating internal threat intelligence consumers on cyber threats, whilst engaging with the wider external threat intelligence community
  • Identifying and managing a wide range of intelligence sources to provide a holistic view of the threat landscape
  • Create and map novel detection analytics to detect relevant TTPs against the MITRE ATT&CK framework

Essential Skills

  • Ability to communicate constructively and confidently on a technical level with analysts to a strategic level with senior executives
  • Comfortable and adaptable to new technology and their respective risks
  • Strong attention to detail, with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proven analytical, report-writing and verbal briefing abilities
  • Able to manage competing priorities, working efficiently under pressure to deliver both prioritised intelligence requests and scheduled tasks
  • Technical understanding of information security and cyber defence concepts
  • Exercising critical thinking to assess threats via the assimilation and interpretation of qualitative and quantitative data

Desirable Skills

  • Penetration testing experience
  • Coding experience (Python, Bash, Powershell)
  • Desirable but not essential qualifications (BSc, MSc, PhD, CREST, TigerScheme, SANS, Offensive Security)
  • Previous experience of threat intelligence is advantageous
  • A working knowledge of financial services and the typical business processes involved together with the threat actors and their relevant tactics, techniques and procedures (TTPs) would be of significant advantage.

Salary, Benefits and Work-Life Balance

We do not have a set salary for this position, as it will be dependent on the successful candidates experience. We are happy to see CVs from all candidates who meet the requirements, and will be happy to discuss the remuneration package.
