About Admiral
As the only FTSE 100 Company headquartered in Wales and ranked the best big company to work for by the Sunday Times this year, as well as the 3rd best super large workplace for women by Great Place to Work, Admiral is an exciting place to launch your career from.

We’re an innovative, profitable and fast-growing financial services company launched in 1993. Admiral has grown from being a small start-up into the UK’s largest car insurance provider.  Our history is one of amazing growth and inspired innovation. And while our business has changed dramatically over the years, there’s one thing that’s remained the same: our working culture.

We’re proud to be an entrepreneurial workplace with a start-up mentality. Admiral is constantly innovating and launching new products and services both here in the UK and overseas. We now operate across nine countries with a diverse product portfolio.

Admiral’s success goes together with having a strong people focused culture. Our philosophy is a simple yet effective one: “people who like what they do, do it better”.  We now have over 10,000 employees, who are right at the heart of our success. We put a lot of effort and investment into making sure our organisation is a happy and supportive place to work, where challenge and career development are encouraged, and fun is never frowned upon.  Admiral has an open culture that’s wholeheartedly focused on four key areas: communication, equality, reward & recognition, and fun.

We truly care about our customers and we’re very proud of the level of service we provide. No matter what department you’ll be working in, the customer will always be at the heart of every decision we make. By recruiting people, who are customer focused and love to help others, we can continue to provide a great service and ensure an excellent experience for our customers.

About the Data/Analytics Graduate Programme

For our data/analytics programme we are looking for ambitious and enthusiastic STEM graduates with a real passion for working with numbers, data and new technologies to join our collaborative and fast paced business at our international HQ in Cardiff.

We’re looking for logical thinkers with a strong mathematical foundation (gained through a degree such as Maths, Physics, Engineering, or similar), who can model and manipulate data. Other than that, we don’t require any prior experience or knowledge of insurance, although you should bring plenty of drive and energy, and good communication skills.

Our Analyst Graduate Programme will give you a solid grounding in how we use data across the company to gain an advantage over our competitors. Over a 24-month period you will complete 3 different eight-month rotations in data functions such as Pricing (Motor, Home, or Travel), Telematics Data, Management Information, Business Analytics, Claims Solutions, Fraud Analytics, Business Intelligence, Operational Analytics, etc.

Further to your day-to-day role working with data, sharing insights, and being responsible for your own work, we invest heavily in you and your personal and professional development. We’ll encourage you to push yourself and gain new skills throughout your time on the programme. You’ll be trained in SAS, SQL, and Teradata to support your career development and, depending on where you’re placed, will gain exposure to further programming tools. You may also complete a short rotation within an IT function, depending on your interest and training requirements. In addition, you’ll study towards a nationally recognised professional management qualification through the Admiral Academy and the Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM). You may also get the chance to gain additional qualifications, such as a Masters, which would be fully sponsored by us.

In addition to the support of the Graduate Programme Manager, you'll have your own dedicated business mentor and a graduate buddy for help, advice, and professional guidance throughout the programme.

The Admiral Group has operations in Spain, Italy, France, the USA, Canada, Tukey, India and Mexico, so there may be opportunities to collaborate with your overseas colleagues, sharing best practice and transferring knowledge. This can include visits abroad, which can vary anywhere from a few days to a few months or even years.

By the end of the programme you will be ready to move into a permanent role with us. Our aim is for the programme to help pave the way for you to have a successful and rewarding career as an analyst, programmer, or data scientist within one of our data rich functions. Throughout your time on the programme you’ll have the chance to shape your career and find something that you truly enjoy.

Find out more first-hand in our graduate blogs.

*We recruit for graduate-level roles directly into our data/analytics functions regularly (with immediate start dates), so if you prefer to go straight into a graduate analyst role, that is also an option. The main difference is that the graduate programme allows you to complete rotations. Please get in touch if you'd like further clarification or to talk through your options*
