Admiral Law Specialist Liability Team Manager

Admiral Law was created in 2013, to provide legal assistance for all our customers and ensure they are given a great service throughout the life of their claim. Our purpose built, modern office, is in the heart of Newport City Centre, directly opposite the railway station.

About the role:

The Specialist Liability department was established in 2016, in order to service clients who have suffered personal injury as a result of claims arising from employment, public liability, product liability and disease. The department also handles claims for clinical negligence.

The firm focuses on delivering a high standard of care to our clients whilst ensuring we obtain the fairest compensation possible. This role involves managing a team of lawyers and paralegals handling EL, PL and RTA claims but not clinical negligence.  The team includes case handlers with a range of technical competence from less experienced to those capable of handling more complex, higher value claims.   

We are looking for an innovative, enthusiastic, self-motivated and talented individual to join our expanding management team.

Responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring that the team’s work is in line with our company SLAs and KPIs.
  • Providing technical guidance on files.
  • Undertaking or arranging wider training where appropriate.
  • Managing staff performance and giving them the coaching and development they require to help them achieve their career aspirations.
  • Motivating a team of case handlers daily.
  • Ensuring we act within our regulatory framework and with our client’s best interests at heart.
  • Auditing cases and provide appropriate feedback.
  • Keeping up to date with industry changes, working closely with our management group in order to continually develop the department and wider business.
  • Identifying trends and have an analytical mind to gain focus on our market position.

About you:

We are looking for someone who has a keen eye for detail and a passion for the role. It goes without saying that you must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, and a commitment to delivering outstanding client care and technical development of staff. You will be someone who leads by example and has a good track record of delivering within timeframes. Previous management experience is not essential but is advantageous. A strong knowledge of the Fast Track and Multi Track claims, including litigation and a track record of handling PI files, is essential for this role.
