Job Purpose

Performance testing is done to provide our business stakeholders with information about application speed and response times, stability and scalability whilst at the same time safeguarding the production estate from any performance degradation that may be introduced with new functionality.


  • Experience of web application performance testing (load, stress, scalability) resulting in delivery of robust and high-quality scalable solutions
  • Demonstrate the ability to understand complex system architectures, question non-functional requirements and pinpoint technical risk areas
  • Strong system analysis skills and ability to analyse data for performance bottlenecks
  • Server and network performance monitoring
  • Must be passionate about testing and have a resilient attitude in pushing the quality first approach within a SCRUM team
  • Being pro-active and demonstrate an ability to seize opportunities early

Key Technical Skills

Experience and/or demonstrable knowledge or understanding of the following:

  • SQL and DB knowledge
  • Scripting skills – J-meter
  • App Dynamics, or similar
  • Linux OS
  • JIRA
  • Confluence


  • Related experience within IT industry
  • ISTQB Certification or accreditation in testing – desirable
