Working as a key part of the Partnerships and Innovation team, the Test Analyst will be responsible for testing solutions and requirements throughout the implementation of new partnerships for Admiral.

This recently formed area is exploring new technologies and techniques in a security conscious environment.

Our objective is to build and deploy a flexible cloud-based solution for an ever-evolving expansion of products, delivering a fit for purpose solution whilst maximising efficiency of delivery, quality and scalability.

Job Purpose

This is a wide-ranging role where the Test Analyst is an important element in a focused delivery team exploring and developing, Microservices and Cloud implementations. You will be responsible for ensuring a quality system is implemented by maximising test coverage and work with Test Automation Engineers to develop repeatable automated testing.  

You will work with Developers and be part of the team to understand requirements and solutions across several different areas.

Main Duties

  • Being able to work effectively within the Agile/Scrum methodology and participate fully in sprint ceremonies, working closely with Developers and Business Analysts
  • Author test cases using the descriptions of expected functionality on the User Story Cards or Requirements as the test basis
  • Clarify and challenge requirements and design
  • Utilise various standard test techniques as appropriate provide the test coverage required to test the feature / function such as boundary value analysis, state tables etc
  • Schedule test activity and exploratory testing efficiently & in the most effective way possible
  • Report defects according to the guidelines in the defect management approach
  • Provide feedback to lessons learned activity for continuous improvement of test approaches and strategy
  • Focus on Admiral’s risk-based approach to quality and understand what is “good enough” for our business
  • Feed into the release plan
  • Adhere to technical and security standards
  • Develop an understanding of related processes, such as release cycle
  • Continuously stay up to date with business initiatives, processes and procedures to understand impact on current testing
  • Identify opportunities for knowledge transfer and provide, where appropriate

Experience and Qualifications Required

Desirable:

  • ISTQB Test Analyst Foundation level certificate
  • Previous working experience in a similar role
  • Education or technical experience in a relevant subject/topic/workplace
