Pricing is responsible for setting the rates which create competitive prices for our car and van insurance customers. Graduates in these teams are given the chance to get involved with everything from running pricing models using statistical tools, understanding the numbers within those models, and ultimately making proposals for potential improvements to the rating structure of our products and other business critical decision-making processes.
Analytics (Data Science and Fraud Data)
Analytics utilises Admiral’s data and technology to drive profits in all parts of the Group, making suggested changes to processes and procedures. Data scientists in these teams work on leveraging data to keep Admiral Group ahead of the curve. They work on projects across Admiral’s product portfolio and across different geographical entities.
The Rating engine is used to calculate the annual premium for Admiral’s motor, van, household and ancillary products, and to generate any system rules. The programmers in the rating area get involved with many projects within the business and work closely with members of both the pricing and data teams. They implement changes to our rating structure on a constant basis whilst ensuring quality is maintained. An area of this team is committed to testing and quality and they have the opportunity to learn and develop test automation skills.
Across all our data functions, we offer a steady path of career growth with many of our previous graduates progressing to leadership roles involving regular contact with some of our most senior managers.
Thanks to the culture and structure of our business, the skills and experience available in our Pricing, Rating and Data teams would be transferable to other analytical departments as we grow our product portfolio.
