The Project Manager will oversee and manage the successful delivery of data governance improvements within the remit of the Data Governance department.

Job Purpose

To project manage the Data Governance projects.

The Project Manager will be responsible for delivering projects within the Data Governance Programme to time, cost and quality targets.

The successful candidate will report into the Data Governance Manager for progress and as a client business point of contract.

Main Duties

  • Proactive ownership of all project deliverables, maintaining a focus on quality at all times
  • Management of stakeholder relationships and communication
  • Ownership of the project plan
    • Project initiation
    • Business and functional requirements analysis
    • Technical specifications and build
    • Unit, system, model office and user testing
    • Implementation
    • Benefits management
    • Budget control
  • Ownership and proactive management of the:
    • Project risks, issues and resources
    • Changes within projects
  • Ownership and chairing, or input and involvement, in project level meetings (steering, progress, ad-hoc)
  • Clear and concise project reporting
  • Adherence to the defined governance framework, taking a proactive approach in suggesting improvement
  • Support other Project Managers (when required) towards successful delivery of a portfolio of projects

Other duties include:

  • Troubleshooting on sub-projects
  • Mentoring and guiding junior Project Managers working on this programme
  • Help others, checking and improving quality of work
  • Be ready to anticipate and support the activities of other members of the team
  • Establish and maintain excellent working relationships with all stakeholders

  • Commercially aware

  • A working knowledge of Agile working practices
  • PRINCE2/PMP qualifications or equivalent are advantageous but not essential
