About the role:
We focus on delivering a high standard of care to our client’s ensuring they obtain a fair outcome of their claim. The role involves dealing with Fast Track claims where liability and/or quantum is disputed necessitating the need for the claim to be litigated and handling the claim from issuing proceedings to settlement/Trial. As a Litigation handler, you’ll be expected to deliver an exceptional level of service to everyone you speak to. No one claim is the same, the role offers a variety of complex matters that will engage your mind in problem-solving, creativity and devising a set of best outcomes for the client.
We are looking for motivated, articulate and analytical individuals to run litigated Motor Personal Injury cases within our dedicated team. With your own caseload, you’ll advise your clients on the best course of action. You’ll effectively manage and progress your own caseload using our in-house case management system (and in line with our SLAs), whilst keeping your clients fully informed of progress. You will also be expected to pass on your knowledge to junior members of the team, mentoring and advising them on all procedural stages of litigated claims as well as some of the technical areas.
Litigation handlers work Monday to Friday on hours of either 8am – 5pm or 9am – 6pm whilst accruing flexi-time to use at your disposal.
LPC or CILEX qualified (or with significant claims handling history), you’ll have impressive legal and procedural knowledge and practical experience of litigation, for example drafting detailed quantum and liability witness statements and submitting applications post-issue, especially within motor personal injury. It is also important that you’ve prepared for and run cases to trial. Thorough and methodical, enthusiastic and organised, you’re confident managing and prioritising your work. You’ll also have sound PC skills.
