Fraud prevention is rapidly becoming one of the main focal points for companies; with the potential savings reaching into the millions, it’s an exciting new area to be a part of that presents opportunities to make a real difference to the Group’s performance and targets.

We are looking for enthusiastic people to join a new specialist team of fraud developers and analysts. Working on fraud detection you will have the opportunity to present ideas, use new software and be part of a wider endeavour to keep Admiral Group ahead of the curve in its fraud prevention efforts. You’ll utilise your knowledge and our technology to combat fraud and to analyse our existing methods. As part of the Fraud Analytics team you will have the opportunity to work with different departments and stakeholders and you will be able to make suggestions for changes to processes and procedures. No- one will ever say “No” to a good idea!

About You

You are self-motivated, able to work well in a team and capable of delivering to agreed timelines. You have an interest in different data systems, computer programming and its application in a fraud capacity. You will be someone eager to shape the Group’s long-term fraud strategy with a keen interest in both the application and analysis of new technologies and data sources.

Responsibilities

  • Apply your analytical expertise to identify fraud detection and processing opportunities.
  • Create and maintain bespoke portal frameworks and content for various departments in relation to their business requirements.
  • Use SAS, SQL, JAVA and other tools to navigate and process large data sets to come up with suggestions as to how we can improve our existing efforts.
  • Work with department ‘Subject Matter Experts’ (SMEs) and  Senior Managers to understand and solve problems by asking the right questions and delivering appropriate solutions.
  • Inform, influence and support new products and initiatives across the Group.
  • Remain up to date with trends and developments in the wider insurance community, to ensure knowledge, skills and approaches remain current.

Desired skills and experience

  • Knowledge of SAS, SQL, JAVA or other programming languages.
  • Experience with large data sets in multiple formats.
  • Ability to initiate and drive projects to completion with minimal guidance.
  • Excellent communication skills with technical and non-technical audiences and a desire to work within a dynamic team in a demanding environment.
  • Ability to confidently challenge business leaders using simple and compelling language.
  • A flair for solving problems using data.
  • Attention to detail and adept at spotting anomalies in data through applying sound logic.
  • Possesses a ‘can-do’ attitude and an ability to make things happen!
