Admiral offers 'hugely supportive' career development
A key member of our training staff is celebrating becoming a lead trainer after more than a decade working for the Admiral Group.
Ffion Thomas began her career in our Claims department in 2005 with the intention of working for a few months while looking for another job.
Now, 11 years later, Ffion says the 'hugely supportive' development she has received over her time with Admiral has helped her progress to become a lead trainer.
Ffion studied for a Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) Certificate in Training Practice during her time in our Claims department via Admiral's educational sponsorship scheme and said: "They were hugely supportive with allowing me to amend my shift slightly so that I could attend college."
She went on to work with our internal training academy and added: "My role at Admiral Academy brought the opportunity for more study and development, I have completed an Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM) Level 5 Award in Leadership & Management, become a Myers Briggs Practioner and attended numerous internal courses and development plans which have all been an invaluable part of my development.
"In addition to courses and qualifications Admiral also gives you opportunities to develop skills in your work.
"I have spent the last 12 months working with our IT department as a Project Manager which has allowed me to develop my planning and strategic skills in an environment which was completely out of my comfort zone.
"The mentoring and support you receive in your role compliments all the learning and allows you to apply learning in the workplace."
She said: "The combination of all of these has been a huge help in my success in getting this position."
We are now hiring for Claims Handlers in our Swansea office.
