Admiral supports more than 150 groups and charities in 2016

More than 150 clubs, groups and charities across South Wales have benefited from funding in the past six months thanks to Admiral's Community Chest scheme.

Admiral has awarded thousands of pounds to charities and organisations across the region for more than a decade through its Community Chest.

In June this year we donated more than £500 to Barry based netball team Westend Ladies which allowed them to invest in kit for their A Team.

Jenna Webb works in Admiral's marketing team and has played in the Westend Ladies A Team since 2008.

This year Jenna took on the role of treasurer at the club and said: "I'm thrilled it is my employer who has helped the club get a new look and I'm so proud to have the Admiral logo on our dresses."

In January Cardiff Dogs Home (pictured above) received almost £800 from our Community Chest which paid for 25 weatherproof coats to help dogs against the wind, rain and cold when they're out being walked by the more than 100-strong team of volunteer walkers.

Denzil Hopkins works in our IT department and said: "Without the support of Admiral the charity would not have had the finances available to pay for these coats as most of their funding goes to the kennels and the vet bills."

Admiral also provided almost £600 to the Gorseinon and District Brass Band in May which allowed them to buy a new instrument for regular performances.

Hayley Jones works in our Renewals department and applied for the funding as her father-in-law is the band's founder and chairman, Redvers Jones.

Redvers said: "The instruments are very expensive which means funding is everything to us."

The Admiral Community Chest is one of a range of benefits offered to our more than 6,000 staff in South Wales.
