Inside Admiral

Our pledge to support our employees in the Armed Forces Community

In aid of Armed Forces Day in June, we invited members of the Armed Forces, as well as the regimental goat(!), to our Cardiff HQ to witness our special signing and engagement event and pledge to support reservist employees.

We recognise that reservists are a crucial part of the Defence family, and by implementing protective and flexible workplace policies, we’re able to empower our employees to make a real difference to their personal and professional development.

At our heart, we work hard to provide a happy place to work, where challenge, fun, opportunity and career development are encouraged for everyone, and work-life balance respected.

The event comprised activities led by active reservists for Admiral employees, which tested them on the skills essential for the personnel in the reserve forces, such as puzzle-solving and team work.

Reservists also managed exhibition stands, visited by Royal Marines Brigadier Jock Fraser MBE ADC (Naval Regional Commander in Wales) and Colonel Nick Lock OBE (Deputy Commander, 160th Infantry Brigade and Headquarters Wales).

Brigadier Fraser Royal Marines was the senior military covenant signatory. He said:

“It was a real privilege to sign the Armed Forces Covenant with Admiral today.  In signing the Covenant, Admiral has formally recognised the serving regular and reserve personnel, veterans and their service families and their contribution to the community in Wales.

“The Armed Forces continue to enjoy tremendous support from the people of Wales and I hope that the pledge today from such a high profile Welsh-based company will inspire other organisations and businesses to sign the Armed Forces Covenant, too.”

Our Head of Recruitment and Training Andrew Viazzani, said:

“Admiral is delighted to sign the Armed Forces Covenant and show our commitment to supporting our Armed Forces, and realising the enormous value they can bring to business.”
