Long serving manager celebrates 20 years with Admiral

An award-winning Admiral Group manager has celebrated 20 years with the business.

Lowri Jones joined us as teenager and now, two decades later, is HR Manager for our price comparison website

Admiral also sponsored her through a Masters Degree in HR Management at the former University of Glamorgan which she completed in 2008.

Lowri said: “I couldn’t have asked for a better company to invest my time and life with.

“The company is one of the best out there, full of talented and creative individuals and the leaders of the company are such talented, inspiring people.

"I’m very lucky to be a part of it.”

The HR manager (pictured above with the team in 2015) joined Admiral at the age of 19 and started her career handling calls in our Customer Services department.

She said: “I remember my first day vividly and there’s still a few people left who started with me on that first day.

“I knew I enjoyed helping people and being very busy and I loved people as well as the administrative side of the job.”

Lowri has been recognised for her long service and will next month be attending the RBS Six Nations 2016 clash between Wales and Scotland in Cardiff as a result of her 20 years with the company.

She also attended a Wales Rugby game five years ago after completing 15 years service with us and watched the match from a suite at the Millennium Stadium (pictured below) in Cardiff.

In 2005 Lowri was presented with the "David Stevens Award for Large Volume of Highest Quality Work” which is named after Admiral’s co-founder and chief operating officer.

Every member of our staff receives £3,600 worth of free shares in our business every year as Admiral floated in 2004.

Lowri remembered the day of the float and said: “The atmosphere in the office was amazing.

“It was very exciting, you couldn’t believe it had happened and what it meant for us going forward.”
